Archive Messages
Rather than just permanently delete messages, it would be fantastic if you could archive messages. This was one of the features in Google Hangouts that I used the most and found incredibly helpful.
Sometimes you want to clean up your inbox so you don't have hundreds of conversations floating around in it that you have to scroll through, but you don't necessarily want to lose some conversations forever by deleting them. The ability to Archive conversations in order to move them out of the main inbox view and into a separate archive view for later reference or search would be perfect here, and I believe would appeal to many users.
See the Google Hangouts app for more details on how this could and should work. Would love to see it in Textra! It would make it truly stand apart from the competition!

Absolutely. This is the one thing that's stopping me using Textra as my default SMS app. I have messages that I don't need to see on the front screen, but don't necessarily want to delete either.
Both Google messenger and Hangouts can perform this very well, and I'd have expected Textra to have been at least as good if not better.

I agree. Archiving is a good way to clean up threads that you don't necessarily want cluttering your inbox while still being able to keep them elsewhere for future reference. Plus, certain conversations are better kept out of sight so you're not tempted to reread and dwell on the contents; don't want to permanently delete, however.

Totally want this. It would make this app truly great. Right now I'll prob switch back to Google messenger when they fix their bugs bc you can archive and clear out the inbox.

I have rental props and other business texts. I like the idea of being able to save texts for that reason. also to be able to print them if needed.

Archived conversations would be great! I hate having so many conversations in my inbox, but some have important info that I don't want to delete... Archive or even just a hide function would be great

When a new message is received in an archived conversation, it should be automatically moved back to the inbox view if notifications are not muted so you can communicate on it, and then when you are done you can archive it till you need it again.
