Absolutely. This is the one thing that's stopping me using Textra as my default SMS app. I have messages that I don't need to see on the front screen, but don't necessarily want to delete either.
Both Google messenger and Hangouts can perform this very well, and I'd have expected Textra to have been at least as good if not better.
