Display number type for contacts with more than one mobile
If a contact has more than one mobile, it's difficult to tell which one to use since you only display the number and not the label e.g. "mobile", "work mobile", "spare mobile", etc

Update the strip accents and diacritics feature
I have some suggestions about the "Strip accents and diactritics" feature.
Instead if stripping everything unfamiliar in Western Europe, I suggest it should change Unicode characters to legal ones closely resembling them.For example:
upper case Á should be upper case Å or lower case à
upper case Ú should be lower case ù
upper case Ó should be lower case ò
upper case Í should be lower case ì
upper case Ő should be upper case Ö
upper case Ű should be upper case Ülower case á should be lower case à

Move the send button to a safer place
The send button is very near the right edge of the screen and is very sensitive. Many modern phones has edges that are overly sensitive or/and easy to touch.
It happens to me all the time that i accidentally touch the far edge of the phone, and thus send the sms prematurelly. This never happens on other text apps like Google Messenger.3 votes -
Opt out of a conversation, partly or completely, Temporaily or permanently
You can currently mute a conversation, and this is smart. But this could be enhanced and become much more versatile.
I suggest to enhance the mute with the ability to (temporarily) set a specific conversation to "silent alerts", or "no notifications" or even "ignore" (new messages are deleted from the thread)
These options could also be offered for 'unknown senders' against spam.
In the advanced version it could even be automated so you could select windows in time where it is off/on. Either scheduled, or select a specific mode for the next XX hours.

Easy "add to contacts" button
One key feature that I think is missing is an easy add to contacts button when you receive a text from an unknown number. The button would take you right to the built-in "adding a contact" screen with the number already inserted so you only have to add the name to the contact.

When others have Textra
You guys should do like.. if others have this app, that they can send it to those who do like if it's just a messaging app like WhatsApp or Telegram type things. And the marked red could be the accent color. I would love that so much. And if they don't, regular SMS and to sign up could be with your phone number or something. But they would have to have Textra to message with data or wifi and have the option to opt out of it. And maybe these people would have read receipts with the check marks like…

Chat Head Overlay
We'd like to see a chat head overlay similar to that seen on Facebook's Messenger app. I love the ability to quick respond and pull down the drawer to do so, but having it on screen is a neat aesthetic that I think many users would enjoy.
Facebook currently offers sending SMS from their messenger chat heads, but its not nearly as intuitive or customizable as Textra. No chat head SMS app currently runs smoothly, and they dont offer anything remotely close to Textras options. Ability to lock a contacts convo to the top of the convo list
Say you have certain people that you always want their convo at the top of your convo list so you don't have to go searching every time for that specific convo, you know it'll always be right at the top when you open the app

Display which phone# a Contact is using especially in group thread
When a group message comes in, and one contact has multiple phone numbers, I cannot determine which phone the a ender is using. Important for contacts who use multiple phones. Need to see which phone number the message is from, rather than just contact name.

Name conversation to group by the group name
In the new 3.28 it is possible to name a group. Thanks :)
But when the conversation is initiated by selecting a GROUP why not inherit the name?
Perhaps also make a reverse lookup for a name by the recipient combination in the groups?
(And please allow the use of both Google groups and local groups)

Ability to back up preferences and settings so switching phones or having to reinstall isn't such a pain.
An option to back up user preferences (contact ring tones and color schemes) would be a great way to get people to come back to it after getting a new phone.
