Please add this feature, this is very helpful for ads that are from the same advertiser but uses a different number each time, making it impossible to blacklist them forever.

"Do Not Disturb" setting for notifications
It would be cool to have a timer you could set to disable notifications between certain hours. Say you're at school and get distracted by your phones notifications, you could set Do Not Disturb mode for 8-5 and not get any notifications of new text messages.

Add support for T-Mobile DIGITS
Support for T-Mobile DIGITS or multi-line support that is native to recent Samsung Galaxy phones. Currently, the only app that supports multi-line is their stock messaging app.

auto response to text messages when busy
a simple user-defined reply that will instantly be sent to whomever is texting you when you are busy in a meeting driving or whenever you feel like turning it on. this is a must-have in an awesome SMS app such as textra

Driving Mode
texting and driving is everyone's nightmare and harms those who do it and those they are near. other texting apps have a driving Mode that allows you to switch it on and auto-reply to the texter saying "I am driving - please call if you need to reach me" or something like that

Change repeat notification sound
Change REPEAT notification sound to some other than default. This will let the user know that that the initial message was missed and thus greater urgency in responding.

Android Wear 2.0 app needed
At the risk of doubling what others have said, while Textra has some AW2.0 support, in that I can receive notifications, read texts, and respond, the lack of an actual app means the support is very limited compared to Pulse (which in likely going to go to) and even basic Android Messages.

Auto delete messages by age
Right now we have the option to delete based on amount of messages, but I would much rather have it by date. I don't care if it's 10 messages or 10 thousand that I have in a conversation, the age of the message is what makes it relevant or not.

Copying multiple numbers
It would be super helpful to be able to copy several numbers divided with e.g. semicolon or a comma and Textra recognising it as separate numbers for a group message. Not an advanced bulk messages system but it would save me hell-a-lot of time and make me love Textra even more! :)
