Mute threads for specific amounts of time
it would be nice to be able to mute a thread for a specific amount of time or just entirely like you can now. Sometimes I meet a thread because people are texting like crazy but then I forget to unmute it later and then miss a bunch of stuff. It would be nice to be able to have the option to mute a thread for a few different preset amounts of time like 30 minutes 1 hour 2 hours 4 hours 8 hours or 24 hours.

Discard draft option
When composing a message, many sms apps have a menu option to discard the current unsent draft, rather than having to manually delete all the text.

Quick Text/Templates & Timestamps
being able to send frequently-used texts or info. would be helpful as well as the option to view timestamps on each individual message (without having to swipe left).

easy view blacklisted messages
sometimes you blacklist a contact because you dont want to be disturbed each time it arrives and dont want it to add to count of unread messages, but at times want to view list of messages from that contact. how about a tab to view messages from blacklisted contacts. like truemessenger does.

Export settings
Need data file containing all the settings so that it can be installed as it is in new mobile. Settings should have all like blacklist, customization etc etc.

Repeat scheduled SMS option (daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly)
The option to repeat scheduled SMSs (daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly) will be a great add and a major key deferentiator between other apps.
many need to send the same message on regular basis (reminders, birthday messages, etc)

Auto SMS/MMS retry
I like to see an option where if a text fails due to poor or no service that it will automatically retry after a period of time. This time period could be customized in the settings as well as how many retries before it finally gives up and gives the message failed error.

Importing messages from default SMS/MMS app and from xml file
When starting for the first time Textra should ask if it should import system archive with sms/mms. Then there should be menu entry to import massages from xml files, that were exported from other app. Both options are present in Signal, which I am leaving now in favor of Textra. Export to xml would also be welcome.

Dual SIM colors
Here is already a request to take colors from phone settings which is probably not feasible. So it would be perfect to have possibility to set up colors for the SIMs manually. All phones have this for multi-SIM so it would be Very welcome to have in sync also on Textra.

auto response/reply
an auto response/reply feature would be great for while you're driving, you could focus on navigating instead of answering texts. Also having an option to Auto respond/reply to a specific person or contact (like an EX) would be nice.

MMS Toggle Chat/Bulk
It'd be so nice to be able to quickly toggle Bulk/Chat for MMS. A lot of times I want to use a chat format with people. But then there's the situations (like sending a mass text out for holidays or alerts/news) where it'd be so nice to quickly switch it without going through the settings and later forgetting you changed it.

Contact name on top of message
In group messages it would be nice if the sender's name was shown at the top of the message instead of at the bottom. That way you immediately know who's message you are reading.

pop message, read
Currently, when a message pop up in notification you would have two options "Mark unread" or "reply".
Instead of "Mark Unread", I would like to change it to "Mark Read".
Most messages I get are short. There is no reason to not have this option available.11 votes
