Option to override emoticon style per contact
One feature that would be pretty darn awesome would be the ability to override emoticon style per contact. reason being, that if I know a certain person has an iOS device, and I'm using an Android device, I can set their specific style to use the iOS while having the rest of my emoticons be Android style. Same thing for Samsung devices and whatnot.

Remove certain emojis (such as middle finger)
I don't like the middle finger emoji, I personally find it offensive. We should be able to remove certain ones.

Introduce draft option to save the current typing message
When i write some message, mistakely i press back button or attend call, when i come back to app, message is not saved as draft. I have to type whole message again. so please add this feature.

Background color between light and dark.
The dark is too dark, so it would be nice to have something a little lighter without going all the way to white. Just a light gray.

Ex. If your with apple you know that there is am option to let people know when you have read they're messages.

delivery report notification
I have a htc phone. Which has a sensed base rom. I ditched the stock sms app cause whenever a msg delivered to recipient, its shows a pop up notification that I need to press disable/or somewhat irritating. But, textra only show it in the msg body,no notification. Will appreciate if you guys add the option to show sms delivery report notification (silent) on the notification tray.

Option to view all photos from a certain contact
Within a conversation, have an option to view all photos shared with that person in an album type format. This way, you can scroll through photos that were shared easilyeasily, instead of scrolling through texts.

Change notifications
When a text comes up and is seen in the notification panel, when you slide to get rid of the messages in the notification make it to where it doesn't automatically mark it as read

Allow deletion of messages that show up in search.
I use email to text with my Raspberry Pi so I can receive updates about its status.
I receive many upon many messages from this, and they all have different numbers because they were sent from email to text.If I could delete messages that show up in search it would save me a lot of time.

Make a resizable widget that shows recent conversations
Many Android stock texting apps already have this, it let's the user skip the step of opening the texting app, and click directly into a conversation from a home screen.

Set our own background image.
I would love if we could set our own background image in the message window (like when you click on someone's name and see the history of messages). Preferably, in the future, be able to set a different background for each contact (kind of like how we can override the defaults for certain people). This would make this app so much better than it already is!

Add [None] As A Default Signature Option
Settings | Signature specifies the default signature when composing messages, selectable options are the user-created signatures. Please add [None] as an option, similar to the choice available when changing signature during message composition.

Quick reply disappears when screen locks
Since the last update (3.16) the quick reply window disappears every time the screen locks so you either forget about the text or have to go into the app. I want it to stay there until I reply or swipe it away, like it used to.
