SMS counter
A counter to show how many SMS you have sent and received in each conversation.

show conversations by most recent or unread at top
add an option switch to either display the list of conversations by most recent or by unread. use case: users (like me) that save a known unread messages from somebody for later action, need to keep all unreads at the top of the list.

Android wear support
I would request you provide android wear support orelse we will be left useless for Android wear user because we cant keep textra as default app and this inturn duplicate the notifications. We would appreciate of this is a extension to the app ans published in google play as soon as possible. Its really pathetic to use 2 sms apps.

when to play notification sound
like vibration there should be options for the notification sound by which one can choose to hear notification even in silent mode or on vibrate mode. I mean to say when to play the notification sound options should be given which allow one to even hear notification form single or multiple contacts even at vibrate or silent mode.

Timings
I would like there to be an option to where I can turn off seeing the timing of my sent and received messages. I can just swipe to the left of the conversation if I want to see when I sent or received a message. Please take this into consideration because seeing numbers and dated all throughout my conversations is unnecessary and annoying. Thank you!

Paperclip symbol in notification for attachments in a message
For the lock screen notification and the floating notification when unlocked, Textra should put a little paperclip somewhere to indicate that there is a picture or something attached. I've responded to messages from the notification without knowing the context because I didn't know there was a picture in the message.

Custom Background
Textra use is mainly due to the simplicity. But at least add a feature where it is an OPTION to customize the background. Those that don't want to use that feature don't have to. And from the looks of it, many of your consumers want this option. Are you going to flatly ignore the request of many customers who use your product?

toggle for car system clearing local notifications
a recent update to Textra included the feature for Textra to sense when a car system read a text message and therefore clears the local phone notification. I'd like this feature to be a toggle. I'd prefer the local phone notification stays, as I can't respond to most text messages while driving, and forget since the local notifications have cleared. if users could choose to opt-out of this feature that would be great.

Reading MMS message in Android Auto
I wish that when reading a group message in Android Auto it would state who the message is from as does Messages in Apple CarPlay.
Currently when Textra reads a group message in AA, it states everyone's name involved in group message, then reads the message instead of just the name of the individual who sent it. This makes it difficult to know who said what without looking at your phone and I don't want to look at my phone while driving.4 votes -
Show contact images next to chat bubble.
just like in group chat, put the contact images next to the bubbles in non-profit messages. Makes it quicker to see who you're speaking with at a glance.
Also with this in mind, allow us to set contact images and show them for ourselves.
