Create a contact from an unsaved number.
I switched from verizons messaging app and whenever I was texting a number that wasn't already saved in my contacts, I could touch on the number and it gave me an option to create a contact for that number. It would then proceed to direct me to the appropriate place to do that.
I like this app way better, I'd like to see it be better than all the other messaging apps in every way possible. Keep it up

have contact emails show up as valid selections like with phone numbers.
Hello,
I've never had a phone that couldn't send texts to email addresses. However I've never had a text app that shows the email addresses if contacts as valid selections when filling in the To field.
I'm hoping that Textra will add things ability. Perhaps as a toggle in the settings. Thanks.

Colourful picture themes for app
themes with images that can be contributed for free by users like go pro before they went commercial then insane hijacking the lock screen and installing adds outside the app. I used to love getting my messaging app, keyboard and phone background as matched as possible (but not the theme set that changes phone icons, that should be optional). There's a lot of free ones created by users for go sms that if approached would likely be happy to have them used on here.

Sending indicator and auto-send on failed
like Messenger and most of the messaging apps, pleaze have something like a spinning circle indicator or maybe a small "sending" or maybe three animated dots of some sort that indicates the message is sending. Delivery report doesn't work on our networks here and it's too inconvenient to always hold the message and click the info icon just to look whether it's already sent. it'll be useful for areas where cellular signal is terrible.

Better Viewing Conversation.
Maybe you could add the avatar of the person your texting beside every message that they send and lesser the space or gap between messages... I personally think, that would give life to the view of conversation :) Thank youu.

Swap "Sent" and "Received" color schemes.
I've found that after customizing the colors just the way I want them for Sent and Received messages in a conversion, when I look at the actual texts, I think it'd look better if they were reversed. A simple "Swap" button could apply the settings for "Sent" to "Received" and vice versa really easily and save a lot of trouble trying to get things just right for each person, all over again.

Pleaze, Pleaze, Add Spell Check Toggle
The Textra spell check (and predictive suggestions) aren't great. I'd rather use my Google personal dictionary. Cursor placement is super frustrating, and predictions get in the way. Together, they can double or triple the time it takes to compose a message if I'm especially clumsy.

Make text messages keep trying until sent successfully
I am constantly getting "Message failed to send" notifications. It would be great if Textra would simply keep trying to send it periodically until it succeeded. Perhaps retry ever 15 seconds or so.

Wallpaper
I would absolutely LOVE it if i could set different backgrounds in different conversations using pics from my gallery ! & Also setting a background on the main screen.

Sent/Received Indicator on Landing Page
I'd like to have the option to add an indicator next to the messages on the main landing page to show whether the displayed message was sent by me or by the contact (received by me).

Samsung Dex
Would be great if we can get support for Samsung Dex. Currently, adding photos or emjoii's doesn't work. Also doesn't work as smoothly as when in regular mode.

Add events to callendar
all too often do I get a text to make plans for a something a few hours, days or even months away and I forget about them until the last minute. For example my dad wants to go to a concert July 24th but if I dont set a reminder, then I will surely forget about it. Please, make it possible for the app to detect appointments or events and give the option to save, much like Apple's iMessage

Auto-Theme font color shouldn't always be black
When you enable Auto-Theme conversations no matter what the font color is black. So that means dark purple bubble + black text = completely unreadable. The font color should change dependent upon whether the color classifies as light or dark. Or make the calculation be a percentage so the font color would be 50% of the bubble color or something

The ability to send a message without revealing the senders identity. This would be useful in the case where you want to send a spirit lifting message, or a compliment and knowing who sent it may not be so important.

Greeting! It would be nice if you can add this another feature, so that you can use textra while another app is open. unlike heads up notification,I would still prefer the chad heads for faster accessiibility. Thank you textra!
