  3. Camera bug

    Camera seems to be engaged after taking in-Texta photographs, as indicated by Android active camera/microphone green dot.

    Dot/camera disengages only after minimizing Textra.

  4. Reaction location

    The translation of iOS reaction messages into reaction icons is great, but the position of the reaction should be on the same side of the message being reacted to as the user who sent it.
    If the other messages from the person reacting are on the left of the screen, the reaction from them should be attached to the left of the message they are reacting to.

  5. Stop auto-enabling features with the updates.

    App was already configured the way I wanted it. It updated, adding chat bubbles and changing several other settings. If I wanted chat bubbles, I would use another app.

  9. Import/export messages/history!

    I fucking love Textra and have been using it exclusively for years now. Only feature I've needed but not had has been message migration. I just got a new phone after a few years and realized I missed responding to a group chat for clients because it started the day I switched phones and I don't have the thread on my new phone. in this instance I can obviously just look at messages on my old phone and get caught up but being able to export and import between devices would be super helpful.     I think it'd be helpful to have an option in settings to add a scroll bar to the side of messaging to more easily scroll up through message history.

  13. automated responses

    if you could can we get automated responses both on a individual messaging level and a global level? for example within a conversation you can set a pre-typed message to automatically send when you get a text message from a contact. There might also have a repeat switch at the individual level. as in if you want you can repeat one message over and over every time they text instead of having multiples. And then potentially have a global automated response that would be superseded by individual Auto contact responses but would send for everyone that texted you this one…

  14. Fix mobile number detection for imported contacts

    Not sure what happened, but at some point my contacts started showing numbers with all-caps labels, like HOME instead of Home, MOBILE instead of Mobile. I'm guessing they got re-imported somewhere and showed up like this. I noticed that the "Mobile Contacts Only" filter stopped detecting some contacts because of this. Please use case-insensitive matching for this.

  16. Idea for message notification supression option

    Imagine you are doing something on your phone and someone texts you 4 or 5 things in a row.. and you get 5 alerts in 20 seconds.

    Now imagine if Textra allowed you to say, "After receiving a message, hide textra notifications for that user for the X amount of minutes."

    I'm already a paid user and this is the app I tell everyone to get for android but this would be a feature that you would be the first to roll out on any messaging app that I have heard of.

  19. One Handed Mode

    The standard messaging app on Samsung Phones has the top half of the screen essentially blank unless you swipe up. That way the top message, the newest, is only halfway up your screen and can be reached with your thumb while holding your phone with one hand. This seems like a great app, but this might be a deal breaker.
