  1. Bug fix - old read messages signal as unread on the app icon

    If I keep messages unread for a longer period of time (more days/weeks), even if I mark them later as read, the counter on app icon still counts them as unread. So I constantly have unread mark on the icon even if they are no unread messages. Only way to solve it is to delete the message, but it's almost impossible to find what message it does as it usually is old message and thus buried semewhere down and as it is no longer unread you have no idea which one it is.

  4. Group bulk vs chat per message

    Allow the choice of chat vs bulk for each group message you send so that some group messages can be sent using the chat feature (replies going to everyone) and some can be sent as bulk messages (replies only to you).

  5. PLEASE bring old photo selection back.

    I could NOT figure out how to attach a photo for the longest time. The bubble is so transparent and there are way too many clicks for just sending one photo!!!!

    Don't have a Private / Secret Mode and this is 2024? c'mon now! Texts / Threads are easily seen by picking up the phone. Get with it plz Pro User here.

  7. Emojis

    Can you make it possible to delete emojis that you don't need or want? It is a terrible chore scrolling for ages to find the one you actually want. The mostly used page is OK for a while, but they don't stay there!

  8. Exporting Chats (Longtime Pro User)

    Hello Dev Team!

    Aa a longtime Pro User, I've loved using Textra for years and having my messages here. The messages are stored locally, which means if my phone were to break, they'd all be gone.

    A button to export a specific chat to an external storage place would be brilliant.

  9. Message Categorization

    please add a feature similar to samsung messages app where the user can categorize individual or group chats/messages into categories. this will allow a user to identify relative importance of the new message and to sort them accordingly. A spam, OTP, and other automated messages could be removed from a cluttered inbox and then finding a prior chat is not just a function of knowing when you last had the conversation.

    Please have an option to lock the quick compose on the notification bar so you can't swipe it away by accident. The only way to get it back again is to go to the app and choose quick compose off and back on again.

    i would like a mechanism for showing just unread messages, please. I have 4 unread messages, but I don't know what they are. I do not want to mark them all as unread, because then I will NEVER know what they are. I do not want to search for them, the app could, in theory, do a better job than I can.

    A slider in settings that adjusts the size of the circular contact photo in the chats list. Currently, the photos can be made larger by increasing the text size, but it would be nice if the photo size was independent.

  18. Contact backgrounds

    Some texting apps have the ability to set backgrounds for specific chats. It would be really nice if Textra had this feature as well. It would certainly go well with the ability to set the opacity of sent/received message bubbles via a slider.

    the default buzz is too long, I'd like to make it shorter. Or longer. Just have options for changing the vibration.
