Love the app but not the new animation.
Love your app but I'm sorry, I do not like the new animation. Somehow I find it distracting. Would it be possible to have this as an option that could be turned on/off?

My idea is to have SMS notifications stay on lock screen for an unlimited time instead of a maximum 60 seconds

Android N Beta breaks the UI of Textra in a few places.
Android N breaks the UI of Textra in a few places.
- When going into 3 dot menu Settings the menu is drawn on the top left.
- Clicking the + icon while in a text thread the keyboard is the emoji one and I cannot see the other gallery/camera/people etc. options so I cannot attach a pic to send straight from a thread (though from quick reply I CAN attach a picture).
- When changing between Emoji styles the UI does not update any new selections but if you tape to change Emoji style and hit OK it changes it under Customize…

Different time picker
I'd like to see a different time picker for delayed sending of messages instead of having to scroll up or down.

Option to customize the keyboard. There's a banner with punctuation chars., and I would rather be able to have the ones I use most.
We need a way to customize the punctuation banner above the alpha keyboard. I rarely use : or ; for instance. I would love to be able to replace them with ' and - which I use all the time. That would save a lot of flipping back & forth to the numerical page.

show contact name for contact number sent in message
Messages like missed calls have number of person that tried to call us. It would be great to read contacts and put name of contacts beside his number shown in message.

Quick reply that's closer to IOS and Stock Android -- View, Reply, and Close options. Stable screen.
Two ideas:
When the message notification floats on the top of the screen, have an option to view the entire thread (i.e., go to the app itself), reply quickly (but no need to bring up the full conversation), or dismiss the notification.
If you wanted to keep the current method of quick reply (bringing up the whole conversation), then keep that conversation up until dismissed so as to allow for multiple messages without having to push send and then go into the app.

Add setting to control length of screen wake.
Currently, if I get a message my screen wakes up for the default system screen time out, which is set for 1 mintue and that is too long for me for it to awake during a message. If a setting existed that would allow me to control how long the locked screen would be on, it would be perfect. I would do around 10 seconds.

Set images for text contacts that are not in my phone contacts instead of the #
I have messages sent from my bank, paypal, att&t and other places that are not actually "contacts". Id like to set pictures for them instead of having all of them be the same # sign

Don't hyphenate the text
I noticed you've started hyphenating text and splitting it up to have half of a word on the next line. It just makes reading things harder. I know this is normal grammar but I think it's fair to say most well designed stuff/pages don't hyphenate anymore. Hope it's a quick and easy change :)
