1. Group Texts - bulk vs. chat

   It would be great to be able to change the "bulk or chat" setting for each group text in addition to having the default setting.

   I currently keep the setting on "bulk" for default, but have to remember to change it every time i want to send a "chat" style msg to a certain group.

2. Select All Button Change

   When selecting messages in the Gallery view, the double checkmark icon that is the 'select all' button is misleading, at least to me. I managed to delete all my messages (and was thankfully able to recover some) because I clicked the select all button thinking it would confirm the delete. Then, not noticing that all my messages were now selected I hit the trash can icon to confirm the delete and poof! No more messages. I'd recommend a different icon or some text or something indicating what the select all button is.

3. Different tone for repeat notifications

   Samsung has gone away from the LED light which would typically keep blinking while I had unread messages. Now the only way to get additional notifications for missed messages is to set up repeat notifications in Textra. The problem is the repeat notifications have the same tone as the first one, so it sounds as if the same person is texting more than once. If there could be a separate tone set for repeat notifications (preferably the ability to change the repeat notification tone for all messages and also per contact) it would help to discern between new and missed messages while still being able to be alerted to missed messages. Thanks!

5. Undo button while drafting messages

   All too frequently I draft a text message, then accidentally erased a portion of selected text. An 'Undo' feature or button would help recover deletions by mistake. It's 2020 and I've never seen this feature in a texting app. Be the first!

10. Long press an address: "Navigate or Save to Contacts"

    If Textra could recognise addresses, then a long press could show options "Navigate to" and "Save to Contacts". Currently if someone texts me their address, it takes many steps to add it to their contact details.

    iT WOULD BE REALLY NICE IF THIS APP (JUST LIKE GOSMS AND OTHERS) IF THIS APP COULD LET YOU USE A PICTURE THEME AND YOUR OWN BACKGROUND FOR TEXTS AND CONVERSATIONS. OTHER SIMILAR APPS LET YOU EITHER USE THEIR PRE MADE THEME OR YOUR OWN. I WOULD REALLY LOVE THAT AND IT WILL MAKE IT HARDER FOR PPL TO READ MY TEXT FROM BEHIND. THANK YOU SO MUCH. PLEASE PUT THIS IN WITH YOUR NEXT UPDATE. I MAY HAVE TO SWITCH BACK TO THE OTHER FOR THAT REASON.

17. OpenPush, OpenStreetMaps, FDroid, & more....

    To whom it may concern,

    I have been looking into options for an SMS replacement and I keep coming back to Textra SMS. However, I see that you do not offer a direct apk download or have published on FDroid. I only use GrapheneOS or CalyxOS for improved privacy and security. So, google services are not an option.

    So, I would like to make a few suggestions & requests.

    Suggest looking into the OpenPush project. This is a free and opensource project that can replace Google Firebase notifications. This will enable you to offer the same functionality to degoogled users as you do to google users.

    If OpenPush is not an option maybe try making the FOSS version of Textra SMS with persistent notifications. The FOSS version of Telegram, in FDroid, does this and essentially serves the same purpose. I would rather have OpenPush but it's still an option.
    When offering locations within Textra SMS, if you ever do, maybe make OpenStreetMaps as an option. This is something that the FOSS version of Telegram also does. It meets the requirements of sending location without using privacy hostile Google Maps. Especially when people are using Android phones stripped of anything google, to include google maps.
    Offer a way to pay for Textra SMS without going through google play store. PayPal, Librepay, and others are all options. 
    Request you make Textra SMS available on FDroid as well as offer a Direct apk download for degoogle android OS'. You have a great app. I have no doubt many would like to give it a try. You would gain more exposure and in turn gain more users on such app stores like FDroid as you would not have as many apps to compete with, if any.
    You can even create your own FDroid repository

    I hope your team will take some of these suggestions and requests into consideration. Would love to use your app someday. I'm just not willing to compromise privacy and security to use it. But since your app is open source. You have the potential to bringing it to even more users.

18. Stop the Caps

    When I am using the microphone and dictating a text, many of the words come out capitalized. They can be random words in the middle of the sentence and are verbs or nouns or prepositions. There is no particular pattern to it but I am tired of going back in and correcting all the capitals that appear within the sentences. Any suggestions?
