Delete Messages
When on the main screen that shows all your messages, you should be able to swipe left or right to delete all messages from a single contact. There could also be an undo prompt that shows up on the screen until the next action is taken in case the delete was accidental. Having to confirm the delete is kind of annoying. The way the gmail app lets you swipe to delete is preferable .

confirm delete
I recently accidentally deleted all of my text messages. these were not backed up, and reason these were deleted was because there was no confirm delete. please please please include a confirm delete before deleting any string of text messages. I had many many messages, a number of them were near and dear to me, that are now gone forever.

Integration with "Where is my Train" app
Add an option to "Share" a SMS containing train ticket details to the app "Where is my Train", so it can scrape necessary details from the SMS and track the train. Millions of users using Indian Railways will definitely appreciate it. (The app already works with stock Android Messages).

Customize Direct Share
It would be great if users had the ability to customize the direct share functionality in Textra. Currently users see the most recent 4 conversations as share targets. I would like the ability to make a conversation "sticky" so it will always appear there. Additionally I would like to mark some contacts so they "never" appear as a share target. I also think muted conversations should default to not showing. Finally, I think it would be nice to have the option to remove Textra as a direct share option as well just to give users maximum flexibility.

suggestion for option
Any way of adding a quote option so we can reply to the quote. so if a message was sent a few days later and you wanted to reply to that message quote you can so the other party knows what you're referring to after 2 day old message?

I like the variety and aesthetic of Japanese unicode emoticons. Would like to see a layout of those added.

Additional Keep Idea
Instead of specifying how many messages to keep only, have option to keep by age.
Like say keep last 7, 14, 30 days, an maybe say 3 months.
Would be VERY helpful for me at least. Especially since number in given time frame varies.5 votes -
Google voice number
is there a way to have the app support two numbers. as in one for original number and another for a Google voice number?

In textra app on Android, allow right swipe to delete text. Also, archive all conversations for later use after swiping left.
Swipe right, one step delete. Swipe left, archive conversation and remove it from active list.

Release Notes - Details
Please consider adding more details to the release notes, in some capacity, so that users experience bugs can know whether or not their bug has been fixed. Simply stating "bug fixes" does not help users of the app know what was actually changed

Note to Self when messaging own number
When messaging your own number in the app, instead of sending and receiving the same message, just post the message in sent without actually sending it (and thus not receiving a duplicate copy). Idea taken from Signal app which I recently moved from due to incompatibility with another app I want to use

message sound doesn't work
when i get the sms, i can hear vibrations, but there is no message sound, can you do something about it? i love your app, it's fantastic, but i can't hear it

Message text Color
We have the great ability to change the colors of our message bubbles, but it would be great to change the color of the text as well besides just white, grey, and black.

move send button away from keyboard
I often get caught out accidentally sending a message before completing it. This occurs when I tap on the message to edit it and accidentally hit the send button.
I see 2 solutions:
Give the option of shifting the send button away from the keyboard.
Or
Give the option to be presented with an "are you sure?" dialogue14 votes -

I would like to be able to see if someone has received or read my message. I know some carriers are responsible for this, but for the carriers that dont support chat, we could all use textra and know whether the messages go through or not.
