Name order
It would be nice to be able to change the name order. Now it is fix, like "John Smith". In many applications there is an option to change it to "Smith, John". It's nice for many people, but in some countries the normal and official order is "Smith John". Very few applications support this format, and to use any of the other two formats is very strange for my eyes and it's hard to find a contact in the contact list. Note/star/something when text comes with picture or video
When I see a text preview on my lock screen or notification center, I want some indication that the text message also includes a picture or video somewhere in the notification. maybe an asterisk with an italicized message saying media attached.

Automatically fetch photos from URLs
It'd be neat if Textra could identify a URL that hosts an image (ex: imgur.com/animatedimage.gif) and embed the photo or gif in the SMS or MMS message automatically. If you get sent a link to a photo, the picture just pops up in the message instead of the user having to click the URL to see the image in another app

True black theme please
Yes there's dark themes but no true black themes to match with the black backgrounds please add this I know it's not much to ask for but I feel like this should of been added a long time ago please and thank you in advance

Grouping of messages
Can the Grouping of messages done based on the contact instead of contacts number. This will be helpful in checking all the conversations of a contact in a single view.

Group Messaging
Add an option to customize the name for each group conversation. For example, renaming a group as "work" or "night crew" as opposed to having to create a new group convo every time or scrolling down to the last message sent to that group and verifying everyone on the list.
Also, having the ability to add or remove a person from a group conversation would be great. Too many times people reply saying they no longer work for the company (because I'm in a rush and forgot to check everyone on the list) or that I forgot about the new…11 votes -
swipe down to search
a search feature where you swipe down from your messages screen to begin a search instead of pressing the search button. similar to the Nova launcher app search or Evie launcher home screen search

Detect and stop pocket texts
Somehow, I happen to pocket text about once a month. Sometimes these texts are incredibly annoying to the receiver, either because of when it was sent or because the receiver does not appreciate being bothered by a non-text. I would be ecstatic if this fine app would be able to detect a pocket text (if the majority of the words are not found in the dictionary it's probably a pocket text) and then stop the text from going through, unless you perform a certain action to confirm that you do actually want it sent.

Lock screen Pop-up
I'm Loving the app. Its so cool. I have one suggestion for future updates. Plz lock down the last message while replying in lockscreen. I mean when my mobile is locked and pop up comes up. someone can look all the messages in the conversation. Its not secure...

some of my conversations which with the same person but it not automatically join into one single conversation. there should be a function to force merging them.

Multiple Picture Problem
I really like the fact that you can attach multiple photographs at one time however what I don't like is that it invariably puts them in the wrong order than the one you originally chose if you can straighten that out it'll be great help

Links from "my.mixtape.moe" not recognized as a URL/not hyperlinked
I'd just like to see native support for these links, rather than havibg to copy/paste in a browser. Textra probably doesn't recognize them since most of them end with a .mp4 domain/extension.

Needing help with this issue
I can't seem to send any pic, with my mobile data off, and with my WiFi on. The only way I can send a pic. Is to turn my data, back on, and turn WiFi off. Kinda annoying.
