Auto detect group response
Program Textra to detect whether to respond with a group message or individual texts. For example, when I receive a group message, my response should be a group message. When my previous message in a conversation was sent individually, so should my new one. When the conversation has no messages in it, ask me.

Fix this please. I am not receiving sms. This happened a lot of times already. I even have to uninstall my pro version and then re-install. I even have to restart my phone several times. Til now, no sms received. Your app is just great so please fix this asap.

Allow sorting messages by MMS or SMS in search function.
In the search bar, allow user to select a conversation and select "show all MMS" or something so it's easy to find pictures.

After travelling to a new time zone, texts are still timestamped with the old zone
I have travelled to Chicago. After landing, I sent a text, but the timestamp shows Philadelphia time.

Read Reciepts and Typing Animation
Be able to see when other Textra or Android users read your message like in the stock Android SMS app or imessage. Also an animation that lets us know the other person is typing. Functionality should be able to be turned on/off.

Have Textra resync the ability to copy the messages in its database to the sms database and back.
Just to be clear, I really love Textra. It has been my go-to sms app ever since I discovered it in the play store. But when some things don't go well on my phone, like unsynced messages, I have a huge problem.
I always backup my messages. Thousands of them. I use SMS Backup & Restore to keep these messages when I transfer phones or do a factory reset of the phone. At times this works because Textra "automatically creates a copy in the sms database". But this isn't always the case. I've encountered times when textra works as it…160 votes -

Number of recipients limit
Include a plug in that increases the number of recipients that can be in a group mms text. On my phone, the limit is 20. Handcent has a plug in for this which increases the limit into the hundreds and it works beautifully. It would be a big selling point for me if Textra included this.

Insert contact in sending message
There should be an option to insert contact so that it wont be tedious to manually write the number and type in sending msg. It's very inconvenient. Please address this very important issue.

Add a Subject Line: FOR BUSINESS USERS
Textra is NOT just for the General Public...it is ALSO USED by Business Executives like myself to other Business Executive's to conduct time sensitive business. ...a Subject Line ALERTS the recipient of the text the importance of the text in order to respond appropriately in a timely manner....it appears this App as well as my Samsung Galaxy S5 upgrade does not have the features my last phone had.

Ability to sync messages and settings from one phone to a new phone through the textra software
I have a new phone and none of my messages are synced onto it and I can't get any of the proposed forum ideas to work for syncing from an old phone to a new one. Allow users to use a login to back up their messages and message settings (contact colors) within the textra software itself. This could also be useful for an online messaging feature

When doing a quick compose or sharing something from another app to see group messages you are in
Example: I want to share a picture from my gallery to a group message I'm in but can't send it to that group because it doesn't show up like contacts do. Instead of having to open the Textra app and click on the group message and then add the picture or content then send it.

Sending message to multiple contacts (i.e. Group Chat) has no message details
When sending message to multiple contacts (i.e. Group Chat) by SMS, I can't see to which the message has received? I mean there must be a detail option to see the status of the message for each of them.

Let the consumer know when their sent text has been read
Well it's in the title. Johnny sends Karley a text. He is curious if she has read it and is being a beeeotch by not replying or, if innocent Karley has indeed not read said text. Email me, I have plenty other ideas. A lot better than this.
