Hi textra team. I really love your app. But will you change "Textra" on top to "Messaging"?

import & export
it's almost essential to have one's settings saved to an external file that can be used across devices and program versions. also being able to import data from other texting apps would be a nice albeit time consuming considering their multiple formats.

pinch zooming
as we approach middle age our eyes go bad; it's nearly impossible to use any program utilizing & displaying fonts without glasses or if possible maxing out their sizes. the absolute best way to accomplish being able to use these various programs is when they're offering something quick to use that DOESN'T require reading (impossible considering what we're talking about) through settings to just check a vertical scrolled series of very small texts looking for one that when found one stops and pinches it up to see it. pinch 'em back down to keep more on the screen for review.

Select All Button Change
When selecting messages in the Gallery view, the double checkmark icon that is the 'select all' button is misleading, at least to me. I managed to delete all my messages (and was thankfully able to recover some) because I clicked the select all button thinking it would confirm the delete. Then, not noticing that all my messages were now selected I hit the trash can icon to confirm the delete and poof! No more messages. I'd recommend a different icon or some text or something indicating what the select all button is.

Time stamp & hidden messages
Be great to have every single message sent and received in a thread to have time stamps so I can see exactly when messages have been received and sent. As another user also suggested, would be good to have hidden messages that can instantly be displayed or hidden using the user's current passcode or fingerprint

Web Messaging
One of the best features I miss from google messages or iMessage is messaging from the web. There are applications like push bullet that work but having an all in 1 messaging app that handles web messages would be great!

allow suppressing SMS from email gateways
The majority of spam texts, at least on my device, seem to come from e-mailed SMS. Seems like this would be straightforward to filter.

zoom message
in a conversation, it would be nice to be able to zoom / maximize a message - e.g. to show it when picking up packages at the post office, to show track and trace number.

Undo button while drafting messages
All too frequently I draft a text message, then accidentally erased a portion of selected text. An 'Undo' feature or button would help recover deletions by mistake. It's 2020 and I've never seen this feature in a texting app. Be the first!

Group Message Notifications (Android Notification Groups)

Most other apps are collapsing a group of notifications but Textra isn't making it feel behind. it's hard to see other notifications if there is only Textra icons in the bar. using the Android notification groups (API level 24, Android 7.0+) the notification experience can be easily simplified. thanks.

Notification counting that works with android status bar badges
Most social media count up the number of new messages a conversation has and android is able to display a "badge" in the status bar icons' bottom right with the number of new messages. Textra just has the icon, even when we've received multiple consecutive messages from a single person.
