MESSAGE ICONS
I don't think the icons as a replacement for the colors are working too well. I like the idea but the message icon is what is needed! Maybe input the different shapes (icons) into the message icon itself... I think that would be pretty cool!

Allow Silenced Chats, Not Full Mute
Currently, if I do not want auditory and vibrational notification for a group, I have the "Mute Chat" function. This removes the notifications for messages through the chat entirely, which is nice. However, I would like the option to still view the messages through notification bars in my lock screen. I don't want sound, vibration, or anything popping up, but I do want to see the message if I swipe down or if I am at the lock screen. Thank you.

Ability to set specific notification icons to specific contacts, so you could tell who messaged you from looking at the notification bar

Notification Shapes Outline Option
Add the option to outline notification shapes with the standard text bubble icon shape. This would make the notification more clear that it's a text message notification.

Light Mode
a toggle between a light theme and dark theme so it's not gray/black all the time. and the ability to change the accent color of the app, instead of being stuck to blue

Discard Drafts
It would be nice to have an option to discard a draft of a text. Right now I am having to hold the back button until the text is clear.

Call Quick Response
Hi !
Thanks for this awesome app !
I use dual sim phone but, when i want to send quick response texte for call, Textra don't sent my message because no sim is selected. Each call is passed on a defined sim card so why Textra don't recognize this data ?

Spam Filter based on content
You can include a spam inbox feature. Take permission from users to use the data from the messages which come from blacklisted numbers. Apply machine learning algorithm to find a prediction function that can filter spam messages. Such messages shouldn't pop on screen rather only show as unread when user opens Textra app. You can also add a "confirm" feature on the spam inbox where if user selects it as confirmed spam then that number should be blocked altogether to be delivered in inbox.

Send Videos from App
Unfortunately the only way to send videos is physically sharing through gallery. Make it possible to just click photos icon in app and send like all other messaging apps.

Not an idea, but an issue.
All of a sudden I'm getting both the sound and the vibration when my ringer is on. Never used to vibrate as well. I turned off the vibration, but then get nothing when my ringer is turned off. Used to vibrate. What's up?

Further customization
It would be great if we could add a wallpaper background to our texts for general messages and for specific contacts. It would also be nice if we could send mms over wifi instead of text. it would really push this wonderful platform to new heights and truly shine above all other messaging applications.

Mark message as read, but leave the notification on
I turned on the option for notifications to ring 5 times. Considering I can read the message using the notification, it'd be nice if there was a way to make it stop ringing, but leave the notification on as a reminder (to respond, do something, etc.)
Personally, I'd be fine if it stopped ringing as soon as I interacted with the phone (turn the screen on or touch the screen if it's already on or something).1 vote -
Notification Icon Colors
We should bring back notification icon colors. We can keep the icon shapes, but it'd be much easier to distinguish the icons to recognize different messages and contacts if we could change their colors on the notification bar

Night Mode
It seems that the night mode is a little off. One day I'll have it start at 10pm and the next it randomly starts at 5pm. I thought maybe it changed with the time shift but it doesn't do it every day. Even so a better option would be to let us pick the time frame for which it goes into night mode. Every one has different schedules and it would be great to set the parameters for when it goes dark to our specific ones. Thanks
