  1. # of unread messages

    Similar to iPhone texting, I think it would be nice to have the # of unread messages near the back button when you're already in a text chat with someone else. That way while you're texting someone else, you know how many texts you've received that are unread.

  4. Grouping messages from contacts that change received from number

    I constantly receive messages from the same set of contexts but the source message number changes. these are usually email or security notifications. We should be able to group messaged into the same thread if it starts with the same text.

  5. Don’t reveal sender’s name in dropdown menu

    In the pulldown Android menu, it still reads ”Reply to NN” even though I’ve chosen to hide the sender’s name and the message content. Is there a way not to reveal the sender’s identity in the pulldown menu?

    Also, I would like to ditch the notification symbol in the top row.

    customization of the round icon that has contacts initials in it, for example like when you install a theme how it changes all the overlays as a whole....
    I really like this app so far you guys done a great job.....

    it would be nice to change the bubble chat and background and adding the time stamp to the text, we need more options and customization for messages (text)

  10. SMS HTML Link bug

    When clicking a sms HTML link, the recipient field is filled with a "?". The sms will then fail to send unless it is manually removed. Clicking the following link: "sms:?body=test" will recreate this bug. This link follows the standards for an SMS link and the behaviour is not present in both the default Samsung and the default Android messaging apps.

    I really dislike the bubble animation, seems very 2010ish. Please give us more options, including a simple WhatsApp type animation.

  12. DND (Do not disturb) timer.

    I noticed someone advertising an app that was simply a text Do Not Disturb app. It basically just sends a response to somebody for an amount of time that you set so you are not Disturbed such as when you are sleeping, studying, Etc. That would be a nice feature to Simply incorporate into this app so people don't have to download an additional one to do that.

    Choose file types that are affected by the Auto Save feature. For example, download most pictures automatically but not .gif images.

  17. Address identification

    This is a really basic feature that most SMS apps have, but Textra doesn't- identifying addresses in messages and creating a link to a maps app. This is something that should really be here, and shouldn't be that hard to do since everything else has it

  19. Stacked Notifications Revisited

    Now with Android's "always on" display it might be a good time to revisit how many messages trigger stacked notifications.

    The space on the always on display to show notifications is very limited and multiple notifications from Textra fill the space up quickly, disallowing other important notifications their needed space. I personally would like Textra notifications to always stack but realize others feel differently. Because of this it'd be nice to ultimately have an option whether to stack all notifications or keep the current option of stacking notifications when more than three exist. (Or maybe even allow the user to…
