I really liked the ads at the bottom of the page (since we have ads on the free version)

Choice of ad location.
A setting or toggle to choose the ad location. Many prefer the more convenient bottom location like in 3.41, but many are accustomed to the retro location on top.

navbar color
Allow us to change color of navbar when the app is open. that way instead of always white we can make it match our custom color scheme better.

It would be a welcome feature for me if I could change the default folder which media is saved to, for example, on media which is received from someone else.

Turn off global unread badge count for any thread
Problem: you have several very active chat threads but you don't want them to contribute to the global unread message badge count on Textra icon or system notifcations. aka 99 unread message and I missed one.
Solution: now you can select individual threads and "mute" their counters to longer contribute to the global unread message badge and notification bars.
However, each thread will still show unread message count badges on their respective threads internally in the app itself.
Now you you fully mute your talkative friends and family and never miss an important unread messsage.

delivery report only check marks
I like the single and double check marks for delivery reports, but, add others have mentioned, the whole "delivered at such-and-such" text is unsightly. why not have an option for delivery reports to just be check marks on the side of the message bubble?

contact access
it would be nice if I could search a contact and costomize them , the only way I can customize a contact is if I already have an existing conversation thread , I can't even black list anyone unless I have a conversation thread , I don't like that

First Name and Last Initial
In the heading for each text stream, group should only show the first name and the last initial of the person I'm texting. Can this be a setting?

Make ad message location selectable
I hate that the ad message is back at the top of the message list. Loved that it was moved down but now thanks to few whiners, it's back at the top! Super annoying. Why not give us the option?

originally, ads animated in from the top of the screen moving all conversations down. I found this very frustrating. It was changed to put the ads at the bottom of the screen. I love that. But apparently other users hated it and it was changed back to the top of the screen. How about a setting to allow us to choose whether we want it at the top or bottom.

group chat reply
When I reply to a group chat, I get a notification from my watch showing my reply, but that my reply is from someone else in the group chat. This started happening after the 10/24/17 update.

the ads were moved to the bottom on the last update..now they are annoyingly back to the top...
5 votesApologies, too many users disliked the ‘footer’ position, so we had to move it back. We are considering adding settings for this to see if we can keep everyone happy!

Can you add signature on off option for each message sent indepently from signature settings?

Ignore phone number text or digits after 'x'
My contacts originate from Microsoft Outlook (my phone syncs with Office 365 / Exchange). When you enter a phone number in Outlook, anything that you put after an 'x' is supposed to be ignored by dialers and SMS programs. For example, I may have the entry in a phone number field "(714) 555-1212 x Best to call after 6 PM". The problem is that Textra's caller ID logic tries to match the whole phone number string instead of just the characters before the 'x'. It would be great if users could turn on a setting that instructed Textra to ignore…

Group messages together without space
Messages sent in close together times by 1 person consecutively would appear onscreen without the gap between the texts which usually occurs in a way similar to Android messenger
