Developer Timeline For User Ideas
There should be a timeline for implementation of user-based ideas. Or maybe the textra bot should send a notification. Textra's twitter hasn't tweeted since 2014 and the website is pretty static (no shade). Or maybe the upcoming changes or planned developments coupd be listed in the changelog.
There are alot of great ideas buried through here (Textra as an default keyboard, encryption, etc.), To give the impression that ideas aren't falling on deaf ears, it would be nice to know or get a heads up of what the great Devs of Textra are working on...

Confirm Send.
Move confirm send to left side of message box. Confirm send is good but too close to cancel button and can be pressed by mistake.

Theme Colors - Change Text Color
Add the option to change the color of the font in theme settings to provide some more variation. I think adding the same font colors that are available in the bubble settings would be great.

Sent sound accuracy
Would be great if the sent sound is an actual confirmation that the message has been sent. I always hear it after my send message delay only to end up receiving a "sending message failed" seconds after

Customizable Group Chat Icons
It would be awesome if for each group chat the icon in the conversations list was customizable, a la Facebook Messenger. Instead of a thumbnail of the individual pictures of the people in the chat, it could be changed to just one picture, e.g. a group picture of all those in the group chat.

Search specific text threads.
Let's say I want to search NBA in my texts with Mike . The app only let's you search all the texts, not just the specific thread with Mike. I don't need to see the rest of the texts I said NBA with everyone else. Just Mike.

Recurring scheduled texts
I see this idea addressed here already but want to add my voice to being able to have recurring scheduled texts, be they daily, weekly, monthly or annually.

I am became a VUP (paid) member of this app because it's really good but after I paid I decided I wanted to contribute a little more money to the program yet I see no way of doing this. Backgrounds Please
You have such a beautiful, functional, and customizable user interface, except the choice of backgrounds - light, dark, black. Couldn't we at least have a color chooser / mixer for the conversion list and conversation itself?
Being able to choose wallpapers for these would be wonderful! But at least being able to pick our own colors would be an improvement.

Text Selection (not entire message)
Best messaging app I've found! Just one particularly annoyance: I cannot select and copy words or phrases from previous messages. There is no partial text selection, can only copy the entire message. Quite frustrating if someone's sent an address / phone and you want to copy/paste the into a contact.
Some of us aren't kids who speak in Emoji and have 18 character messages.1 vote -
Chat Box Style
Style the messages to combine sequential messages from a user to look similar to that of Android Messages, iMessage, and Facebook Messenger. Currently the additional whitespace seems to waste space and looks awkward.

Switching the buttons on newest delay-to-send update
The new delay send feature looks really pretty and I love the option of being able to send a message before your delay-to-send timer ends. But I've been using Textra for a long time and have grown used to hitting the send button again to cancel the send request whether it's because I noticed a typo or wanted to reword the text. With the cancel button now resting on top of the send button, I've found myself sending messages a little too quickly when I actually meant to hit cancel and rework my text message. Send videos in-app
From what I can tell, there is no way to send videos over MMS within the Textra app. It's really annoying having to open the video, select share, then select Textra.

Group Sms
For Group sms ,please update delivery report like miui or eui so that anyone can understand, to whom sms got delivered or to whom not delivered yet

two phones
Even if one phone does not have service it could piggy back off of the primary phone and be able to send and receive messages from primary number but on second phone

Random theme
There should be a setting for randomly customizing the theme colors or the app. Just for days when you want it to be random. Maybe even have it randomize everytime you open the app
