More text colors
Right now it's all shades of black and white. Given the new pure black bubble addition, I'd like to migrate all my contacts into having pure black, but I want colored text in order to do that since I have the pure black background. I don't want everyone having white text like I do. It adds a lot more flexibility to customization to have more color selection. You could even theme someone's conversation to their favorite sports team (I.e. Blue text and a red bubble, or vice versa).

Copy selected text
It appears that the app only allows the user to copy an entire message, which is inconvenient when trying to copy just an address or phone number. Copying highlighted text would be a welcomed feature.

Searchable Individual Text Chats
It would be really cool if you could search within the text chat you're participating in. Searching them all is too broad sometimes.

Remove/Hide contact icons in message list
Can we get the option to hide the avatar/contact icons in the message list? That's literally the only thing I've been waiting for for about a year.

There should be a setting that reads you're text aloud when you receive a message and just can't get to the phone to read it yourself visually.

Textra bot text
Gotta love when Textra sends you a fix... and there is NO setting for that!
Are you on the VERIZON network and just started getting MMS errors? (caused by a firmware upgrade to your phone).
Here is the fix:
Textra Settings > MMS > Behavior = System

non-mms group messages
it would be great to be able to send group SMS and not have it auto concert to MMS. In UK we don't really use MMS that much and most carriers charge.

Leave pop up notifications on home screen when locked.
for instance when you get a message then unlock your phone, the message is on the home screen rather than having to open the app. Chomp does this and it's great!
having the pop up on the lock screen isn't ideal because I actually really to messages in my pocket.
