  1. pop message, read

    Currently, when a message pop up in notification you would have two options "Mark unread" or "reply".
    Instead of "Mark Unread", I would like to change it to "Mark Read".
    Most messages I get are short. There is no reason to not have this option available.

  2. Display call history in conversation

    Hey!
    My suggestion is: show the call history inside a conversation, like in Skype or Discord (exemple: "📞 Adam called you" or something like that between the messages.)

  3. 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) Copy in Notification

    Android Messages just added this feature. It would be great if Textra recognized common formats. Maybe allow custom formats as well!

  5. Advanced chat function between textra, CHOMP messagery, plus background color main app ,rcs function like between textra

    • it would be nice to have RCS function between textra users and chomps your other messagery

    • alternative background color switcher main app, or picture or animated

    sending larger files, video, picture

    encrypted message perhaps.

    multi users chat.

    ability to use Wi-Fi and to send message between users and not only relying on sms service.

  6. In-Browser Texting

    Please create a way for me to text via my computer (like android messages or iMessage). This would be phenomenally helpful! Even if it's just a pro feature, I would definitely pay for that considering how great the rest of your app is.

  8. saving photos

    would be great to backup all the photos from all text message conversations.

    I'm changing phones, and realized that MMS not backed up, and my settings weren't set up to save all photos to gallery. Would be great for me to be able to backup all photos to a folder on the phone prior to transitioning to new device.

    aside from backing up messages might as well make a option to backup the customizations made because its hard when you try to replace a new phone or reinstall the app

    Color the Android's navigation bar the same color as the background, and in white, set navbar icon colors to dark (Android 7 and +). The black navigation bar looks ugly...

  16. Better MMS implementation for users who turn mobile data off

    This has been my one big issue with Textra. The way it handles MMS messages when people, like me, have mobile data turned off.
    The way of showing 'MMS Failed' notification, then having to retry doesn't work all the time.
    There needs to be some sort of message, like a download button, that allows you to retry an attempt to download the MMS. Other messaging apps show a download button and can retrieve the MMS in a few seconds. With Textra, I can either get it immediatel, within minutes, or as it happens now, never.

  17. Typing Indicator

    If it is possible, could you create a typing indicator of contacts feature to this app? It would make it far more exceptional than all the other types of messaging apps. This way whoever uses the Textra app can see when their contact is typing back.

    It will be great if we could schedule an automatic message response in specific hours, days or moments... That way, all messages will be response with our message without to read them.

    Features like the ability to like a message or picture and whatnot. For instance if someone sends you a message, you can react to it and have it send a message back saying: Loved "(Insert message here)"

  20. aloha! I'd like to suggest that users can customize the width of text bubbles on the screen.

    I'd like to maximize the text with a slight indentation to the left of send bubbles, rather than the default width. (and right side for receiving bubbles obviously)
    when using pop up messages, the text box is VERY narrow for my 5 inch screen.
