Support new Lollipop MMS API's
Lollipop has introduced new MMS API's for sending and downloading:
void downloadMultimediaMessage(...)
void sendMultimediaMessage(...)Supporting these API's would improve compatibility between devices and carriers.

Option to have tabs.
Either as a permanent fixture on the left or right of the screen or as a temporary left swipe action to reveal the people that you had texted before. And with a right swipe you close the tabs freeing up text space.

Whats with the ads
I have been using the app for 6 months and out of nowwhere i got a msg saying to upgrade or receive ads. Well im taking option c, uninstalling too many good free no ad sms apps out there.

I continue to receive duplicated text messages from people with the texts app. I'm using a Sony Xperia Z1S. why is this happening?
How to stop textra from sensing me duplicated messages. Is anyone else having this problem?

keyboard color to match dark mode
I am using dark mode yet with the new update the keyboard is bright white. You can imagine how annoying this is, especially at night. Can we make the keyboard match the color mode we are using?

change ringtone of text to different contacts
Each contact should have their own ringtone and color. It should be easily set by the user in settings.

tetra has started using a ton of data since ads were added. it used several hundred megs in a week and caused me to go over my limit.
Throttle your ads a little? Otherwise I'm gone.

Scrolling popup preview
When the popup initializes at the top of the screen, the message preview in the little single line scrolls to show whole message without needing to tap and open the actual popup.

Failed to send message notice.
Failed message notice. I had four messages fail and had no idea this happened from the top level message list. Add ability to see this status from the top level, not just within each message thread.
Also, a failure should result in a notification. I am not sure if that occurs already.

White or Black App Start Up Animations
I would like it if you guys make the Start up animations white rather than transparent gray. I know you guys choose gray because you didn't want the app to be "jarring" for when a user chooses a black background and it launches white, but this is okay IMO.
Most apps with a dark background start off white then go dark or visa versa. A good example of this is AccuWeather. It actually goes black then goes blue when the app finally loads.
Personally the transparent gray is more jarring to me than anything because it appears defective. It looks…

Limit the number of sms per conversation
Add the possibility to choose the maximum number of sms in a conversation, and to automatically delete the old one exceeding this number

Option for your sent message bubble to be transparent
Just as the title says, it would be cool if your sent messages just showed up on the background instead of in their own bubble.

photo sharing should display recent contacts
When sharing a photo to textra it would be helpful to display a list of the most recent contacts instead of having to type in the person's name. See Google hangouts for example of this functionality.

Sent message time
Show the time a message was actually sent and not the only the time I pressed send. Sometimes on the subway I send the message and forget abt it only to realize that I didn't send cause the signal cut off, and then it automatically sends when it gets reception. I want to know the time when the message was actually sent.

group notification
I wish that the Group notification (using S6 Edge) would indicate who actually replaied to the message. The entire group is always displayed hte same way and if forces you to open the app to see whoe responded to it.
Imagine if you sent out a simple "who's in, who's out" group message and as people reply the first name in the group is the only one to display. It is incredibly annoying to have to unlock the phone and open the app everytime to see who replied.
The person who replied should be hte name shown on the message.…

Pinch to zoom for making text bigger or smaller
Rather than have 3 size options for text size why not use pinch or tap to increase or decrease text size

When opening the app, unread messages should be BOLD or highlighted somehow.
The unread messages all blend in when the app is open. The unread messages need to stand out.
