when forwarding a message, prepend it with the original sender's initials
For example, when I forward a message from John Doe to Bob Smith, when that message is inserted in my conversation with Bob, please insert the letters "JD:" at the beginning of the message.
I like to do this manually to make it clear that this text was originally written by another sender, not from me. But it is quite cumbersome to do this manually.

Expanding Message Bubble
I'd like the message bubble to expand up to the leftmost tip of the recipient's reply bubble. I usually send long messages due to explanations and business purposes and it's tiring for me to keep on scrolling them. It'd be okay if you could expand the message bubbles so it will not be troublesome. That's what the sms apps have now nowadays like Pulse or Mood.

SMS group / Folder
how about having an option to move the desired SMS in a folder, wherein its easy to access and they are divided as per the needs and there is a option to either keep it open, or an option to password protect it.this will help keep some important msgs for future reference & can b found in a minute

Customize
Maybe be able to see your own contact photo and the person your speaking to contact photo as well in the conversation to identity them but not only show it in the group messaging.

iPhone-emoticon actions
there are a few basic iOS message actions that come through as text messages.

Custom date format
Add setting option to choose date format in convo list and convos (D/M/Y vs M/D/Y). Alternatively, change hardcoded format to MMM D, Y (e. g. Jan 6, 2018) to avoid misunderstandings in the civilized world.

Search function within specific text conversation
it would be nice to be able to search only in a specific specific. the overall search is ok, but I can quickly narrow my search if I could do it within a text conversation. Android messages has that function (for reference propose)

Back up SMS/MMS
A way to back up messages on the cloud would be great, so I can easily retrieve my messages even when I get a new phone. And I believe most pro users will be willing to pay for this service

changing text stream backgrounds
the only setting missing from Textra is the ability to make a picture the background of the texting streaming!! messages has this capability and I honestly think it's the only thing Textra is really missing.

Screen rotate lock
I don't want to set my entire phone to portrait mode only, but I don't want Textra to be in landscape mode ever because texting like that is the absolute worst. can you add a setting that locks textra in portrait?
