An error occurred while saving the comment mike loeven commentedI would actually like a import export system simmilar to how PST files work on outlook. you would be able to export textra archives to the PC where you dont have limited storage issues with modern HDD's 10 gigs of mms is practically nothing. when needed those archive files can be moved back onto the sd by date range and opened in the app. I feel like this is the best way to go here because simple archiving stuff and removing it from the view does not move it off the phones internal dialer storage and you can only compress data so far ....

An error occurred while saving the comment mike loeven commentedI would like nothing more than to archive my old messages and export them to my PC. I could see this working simmilarly to PST files in outlook where you take a date range in textra export it to a file and send it to the PC where storage space is not an issue. Than you could brows text history without loosing as much space to the dialer storage which cant be moved off the internal storage TBH not using dialer storage at all but using its own file system to store texts and mms would be preferable because at least in that situation it will be on a larger external sd card and not be taking up limited internal storage. In the grand scheme of things this is not a major problem on flagship phones but lower end devices can have very limited internal storage and rely heavily on external media

Anyone who is still using an older stock phone has this issue a ballooning dialer storage with no way to tell textra to stop putting text media in the damn system database and store it on the SD my S5 Active has about 12 gigs of available storage most used for apps but I have about 40 gigs left on the SD please for the love of god allow us to migrate text and media over to the external SD marking as critical
