  1. Seen message notifications.

    I would love it if you could add the feature where Textra lets us know if the other person has seen a text message or not. Many other SMS providers offer this but not Textra. Please add this!

  2. Group Chat recipients

    PLEASE finally make it possible to add / remove group chat recipients. love Textra and been a paid supporter for a long time. but I'm searching for another app solution for this very reason.

  4. material you ui theme

    I love the idea of each contact having their own color scheme, but for times where you just want an overall theme it would be great to have the program adapt to the system material you color

  5. search inside conversations

    I'm hoping you can add this feature soon. I just got textra and was using this a lot with a few previous apps. when condos get long, it's a lot to try to manually read to find a contact or a person, etc., within each convo. some xpmvos are hundreds of threads.

  6. Preserve save pictures to gallery

    Please keep the MMS save pictures to gallery option 'on' between updates. I'm noticing that it gets turned off randomly and I have come to rely on the feature!

  7. labels for text that are sortable searchable

    add labels or identifiers to prioritize text. sort by label color, or keep important ones at the top or I could go find important text

  8. Show color names

    As a colorblind person, it would be really helpful to see the name of a color in the color picker. Others have suggested a more robust hex color picker and I support this, but if sticking with the limited palette, perhaps long-pressing the color could show its name.

  9. Search for emoji

    Other chat clients (Signal, Whatsapp to name two) and custom keyboards (SwiftKey) allow you to search for an emoji by its name. E.g. searching for "banana" returns 🍌. It would be nice to have this function in Textra as sometimes it's hard to find the emoji I'm looking for just by scrolling through the list.

  11. Change the color chooser

    May we please have a more standard color picker? Maybe ARGB? HSV? Color rainbow box/circle to tap anywhere? I've nick-named this apps' color wheel "Circular wheel of pastel circles" because every single shade is too pastel, not saturated enough Like watercolors almost. Please update to something a little more modern /recent/accessible?

  12. Ignore texts from blocked numbers

    If I get a text from a number that I have already blocked, I don't want to just hide the text, I don't want it recorded - I never want to see it. For example, if I block my ex, the texts they sent while blocked are still there if I unblock the number. I would like for them to never be recorded. So the last text I see is the one they sent right before I blocked them. Thank you for considering this option.

    I think it would be pretty cool if we could use more reactions, possibly even choose from the normal emoji list, rather than only being able to use the very few Textra allows us to at the moment. It'd also be a lot more convenient to choose from the full list of emojis.

  16. Allow us to mark individual messages 'read'

    If I wait to read my messages, they do not always mark as 'read' when I click on them, even if I stay in the screen for awhile. I would like to mark them as 'read'. I would also like to flag certain messages for response by marking them as 'unread' or when I clicked but didn't have time to read them properly. Please add this!

  17. Sort Messages into Folders l Flag Conversations

    I typed this out before but wanted to vote on another feature and it went bye bye.

    Anyways, I use my phone for work and it would be nice to have a toggle for work only conversations, be it seeing all flagged items or having a separate folder. Tried SMS Organizer, but it was a battery pig and slow, same goes for Pulse. This is a fantastic app, but the ability to organize and then search within those messages would be a huge asset.
