Use blocklist feature to provide private text feature
Folks, you already are able hide blocklisted messages, but still preserve the convo, ie, incoming and outgoing text for that number. why not provide a highly desire feature of private texting. It seems that the only function to add is notification for the blocked. . .err . . . private message.

Show messages/threads halfway down the screen so your top conversations don't need to be reached for up at the top.

Select, Copy & Paste
Allow selecting specific text from a message that has been sent. Drag, hold
Currently, selecting a previous text only allows us to copy the entire message.
We're able to select specific text prior to sending a message, but not once it's been sent.

Block based on content
Block messages based on content rather than just the sender. I often get the same spam/phishing email from different numbers.

single click links
Revert program to the faster, smoother version where you could just click a YouTube link and go right to the video. the pop up menu just adds an extra step (or two), as well as time waiting for it to load, and has no use case for the average user.

Separate Sim 1 and Sim 2
It's frustrating that all sms come in, in the same list.
IT could be really nice if it splits in two list, one for sim 1 (my job sim) and one for sim 2 (my private sim).8 votes -

Choose Directories for Add Photo
When adding a photo from my storage, I am shown photos from ALL folders.
It would be nice to have some control over which folders are presented to pick from by default. (I want to exclude group messaging app photos, for example)

Add blocklist to settings backup
when I change phones my general settings for Textra come over to the new device but blocklist does not. there should be a way to migrate that as well or at least manually export and import. also need a way to block sms from emails completely, smishing is getting out of hand!

Bug: S22 Ultra custom notification sound reverts to default
I am unable to use a custom notification sound for Textra on Samsung S22 ultra running Android 13, One UI 5.0 and Textra 4.59. I select a ringtone within Textra/Settings/Customize Notifications/Android Settings. The sound I chose is from Zedge "Airbus Seatbelt Sign" but when an incoming Textra message arrives, I hear the default system sound "Ping". I did not have this problem with my Note 10plus running Android 12, UI 4.1 and Textra 4.56.
Are you aware of this bug?
For now, I've changed the default system sound to "Airbus Seatbelt Sign", but now other system notifications make me check…

Customization
It would be a great feature to be able to add wallpapers for individual contacts. Or, be able to change their background colors. There isn't enough options for that.

Group Chat Helps
We need to be able to add or remove names from group chats. Now you have to begin a new chat to make such changes. This causes you to break the stream of responses. It seems that it would be a simple fix to make.

An option to use the default vibration pattern
An option to select the default vibration pattern for the device instead of textra's custom one

Unread Filter
I'd like to be able to filter to any unread message. Additional filters would be helpful also (e.g. keyword).

Unknown Contact Message Reminder
I love that I can have messages from unknown contacts not alert me. It definitely stops annoying spam messages from interrupting my day. However, this also prevents me from getting messages that I DO want to get and I don't know about them until I open the app. Can we have an option for a daily reminder of unread messages from unknown numbers? Or something like that. Thanks!

Call from text
When you get a text from somebody it would be very helpful to be able to just touch their phone number and make a phone call instead of having to leave your text and then go to a calling text

Read Notice
Really would like to be able to see when someone read my messages.
This is a nice feature that Hangouts use to have before going to Google Chat.
Also being able to see if someone is replying to your message by showing ...... that would indicate they typing something back to you.
But really would like to know when someone reads my messagesThanks Love this app except now it is giving me Major problems by duplicating messages. I have everyone of my older messages showing 3 or 4 entries for everything
