Separate/group contacts
With Google messages 😖, you can archive contacts, those and the BLOCKED have their own pages separate from the main page. You have to use your more (three dots) menu to access those pages but it unclutters your main page so that you just have your conversations there and things you may only need to use one time or not very often like web and app codes are out of the way but easily accessible. Even so, great app. kudos developers!

Zoom Increase & Zoom Decrease
Please add the feature to zoom increase and decrease the size of the font (text) in a chat window, so that those of us with limited sight can text with less eyestrain.
The feature should be initiated by sliding the thumbs away from the center of the screen to zoom increase or towards the center of the screen to zoom decrease.
Sometimes, the font size options you have in the app, just aren't big enough to read with ease.
Hope you will implement this new feature soon.

Feature request
Clearly some of these have been asked before!
Ability to put messages from multiple numbers into the same thread. Message from num XXX and num YYY both go into the same thead.
I would like to be able to add/drop a recipient for a new message launched off an existing thread. This is available on the default text app.
Ability to squelch notification on a thread by thread basis with an optional time limit.

Underlining
How can I turn off this v4.44 "feature": Added support for underlining of addresses, dates and times, as well as the existing phone numbers, email addresses and URLs in message bubbles. When you tap an underlined element, we now offer a mini-menu with applicable app options. For example tapping 11pm, will offer your calendar app to Schedule or View, as well as Copy and Share options.

Adding contacts- I want to include someone new in an existing conversation.
I want to include someone new in an existing conversation. I tried the advice on adding new contacts, but I wasn't able to. The 3 dots menu doesn't give any choices for adding someone.
I would include screenshots, but I can't add pictures in this feedback; another suggestion. Add ability to include pictures here!

lock vocal record
actually, to record a vocal message, you have to keep your finger pushed on the microphone.
This is really (like, really !!) inconvenient. I really would be pleased to be able to lock the record, like on many applications, just push the microphone and swipe the finguer and that's fine, the record keep going.
This would really really help. More convenient, less dangerous also (when driving)

colors
we need a slider to select colors. the included colors are fine but you can't really pin point exactly what shade you want! thanks

Swipe-to-close optional
When viewing a message thread, swiping to the side closes the thread and takes me to the list of threads. I want to turn this feature off.
Maybe for some users, this is useful. For me, the back button works fine. The feature is a problem for me because I often accidentally close a draft when I try to highlight a line of text. I would like the ability to turn this feature off in the settings.

Sort blocklist and prevent contacts from being blocked accidentally.
It appears the default sort in the block list is by phone number. I'd like to be able to sort the list by date and time. I've blocked several numbers accidentally and it can be impossible to find them if I don't know the number or they're not one of my known contacts. Also if I'm going to block list someone from my phone book it would be great if there was an extra step to confirm that that's what I actually want to do. I've accidentally blocked people and it can be a pain to locate the number in…

Adding contacts after creating the initial conversation
please allow user to add a contact to an existing group text. there's nothing worse than realizing you left someone out of a group conversation and currently you cant add them without creating a new txt.

Offline Backup
I'd prefer to be able to backup the app settings, customisations, & messages to a physical location that to the cloud as many other are requesting.
This way I choose exactly where it goes.

don't detach pics from blacklisted messages
If a contact has been entered into blacklist, the pictures attached to its messages should not be saved to the Gallery.

Enable iPhone reactions for segmented texts
When foreign users or family overseas send texts, they're often broken into very small, double line portions in order to all be delivered successfully. Upon reacting to a message, the legacy response of <"laughed at" etc> "text quotation" will often be split if the message being reacted to is larger than the allotted message size for their carrier. Textra's emoji reaction feature fails to recognize segmented quotes and therefore doesn't apply the reaction to a user's own message and instead sends the entire message again in quotes, as we've been used to in the past.
