text to email contact
my current text message app allows me to send out a group message as individual messages and lets me click on contacts who only have email information no phone numbers. It sends it out using my phone number xx123xx@vtext.com (which is the Verizon format for that) other carriers have their own.

Notification : replace Reply button by Delete button
It seems that clicking on the message body allows also to reply.
While there is no way to delete an sms directly from the notification
Yet it could be useful in case of one-time usage sms like double-authentication codes for instance.

Emoji style setting per contact
Setting the Emoji style on a per contact basis would be useful to see the emojis as your contact sees them if you know what device they have.
I have a Samsung phone with its own set of emojis which some other friends have.
But if a friend has an iPhone, I'd like to send and receive the iOS emojis. And if they have standard Android, I'd like to see it that way - as intended. The emojis can vary greatly in appearance and don't always come out as intended if you use a different style.
It doesn't seem like…

Support for Samsung Gear S3
this app would be the ultimate if I could use it on my new Gear S3 watch. Unfortunately I have it set as my default app (because I love it's interface) but I don't get any notifications pushed through to my watch. Currently only the default messaging app allows messaging notifications to be pushed to the watch.
Bummer...please make it so I can use Textra on my watch too!44 votes -
Mark-Unread, Tags, Folders
Many people receive texts asking them to do something. In Textra, once i see a text, i can't mark it unread, then it's lost in the box. I have to create a reminder or task elsewhere to remember to do the task i was asked to do... that's silly! If i could just mark the message as unread, or tag it with a "to-do" label, or move it to a "requires action" folder, or ideally have the ability to do all of those things, like in gmail, it would really help.
I know you've received many votes already (around 3,000?)…

Give the option to send SMS to an email address. Not restricted to MMS only.
Give the option to send SMS or MMS to an email address. Android Messenger can do this, but Textra automatically assumes its a MMS. Some carrier charge this as picture message, instead of a sms.

Choose your own most frequently used emoji to be "pinned" at the top of the emoji menu.
Currently, at the top of the emoji menu is a section with your "most recently used emojis". While this is a really great feature to have, it would be more beneficial to me if I could select which emojis I want pinned at the top of the emoji menu. There are about 20-30 emojis that I use the most, some of which are buried pretty far down in the menu. Being able to choose which emojis I want to stay at the top would allow me to text faster and more efficiently, as I wouldn't have to waste time repeatedly…
