  1. Contact's notification sound plays when MMS message received and data not on

    I don't keep data on all the time stop if u receive an MMS text, all I get is a very very short sound alerting me the MMS text has arrived and I need to turn on data. Consequently, I miss these MMS texts because I don't hear the very very short sound unless my phone is out in the open and it's totally quiet in the room.

    Would it please be possible to have the specific contact's configured notification sound play? If not the configured setting, what about the default text notification sounds or some other much longer sound?

  2. Improved Contact search

    Improve the contact search function so that it more accurately finds the correct person you're trying to message. When i want to message my wife, Valerie, I have to type out the entire word Val to find her. She is the only contact in my Phone who's first name starts with a V. When I type V, my friend Adam is the first result (he doesn't even have a V in his full name). I also have my wife as a pinned conversation so that's another item that should be prioritized.

  3. Message restore from file

    Textra has the option to copy conversations into a text file- can you add a way to restore these messages from the same text file? Not a cloud backup system, though that would be nice, but just the ability to restore from Textra's own .txt files of messages

  5. Ability to separate chains into folders

    Like email, we should be able to organize our contacts and message chains into folders like work, family, friends, personal, etc.

  6. CHANGE WHEN COMPOSING A MESSAGE TO SHOW ONLY MOBILE OR CELL PHONE NUMBERS.

    My last text on this I made A HUGE ERROR. I have 978 contacts and all except 11 of them are showing Cell not Mobile numbers. Please Fix

  7. Change when composing a text message to show Cell numbers

    I think I sent this but not sure I know I've sent several reasons by email and by this IDEA POST. I think I have 198 cell phone numbers and only 11 of them are listed in my phone as mobile. it would take me hours to change all those numbers to mobile and it would probably be a flick of a switch for your techs to change to show either Or mobile OR cell phone numbers only when composing a message. if you can't fix this I will look for another app. I do like most of the features…

  8. notification thread

    Textra used to do this but now it doesn't but stock Android messages does. so when replying to messages with Android pie the messages used to stay in the notification bar until cleared so you could reply repeatedly from the notification. all the messages exchanged would stay in the thread in the notification bar. idk if I turned this feature of our of it was removed

  11. Colors in message

    It would be great if you could add option to change color of numbers, email addresses, websites and such in the SMS message. Now all text/numbers are same in messages.

  12. Optional Message Delay

    Option to delay messages by a few seconds. This would help prevent sending a message by accidentally clicking the send button and help prevent sending messages to the wrong person.

  14. pinned threads should be unable to be deleted

    pinned threads should have protection from accidental deletion. just don't allow pinned threads to be deleted.

    Once you hit send, and the message delay progress bar starts, being able to start another message would be dope.

    kindly add interval option for each sms in group otherwise mobile software do not allow more then 20 sms .
    I am coordinator of class and Ihave to send sms to about 50 group contact. when sending reach to 20 people a notification appears

    What are the 3 dots after i send things sometimes? It is distracting and worrisome. Akso why do i have to switch from legacy to whatever the other thing is in mms every so often to send a photo?

  19. auto-send management (recurring, separate page)

    Have been using another app called 'do it later' to manage my daily auto-send texts. Hoping this feature would be added to Textra soon.
    Also, maybe for better management of auto-send texts, a separate made for pendinf auto-send texts should be made available. Some of my auto-send texts gets buried in the thread thus K forget that I have set-up an auto-send text.

  20. Improve group messaging

    app is excellent
    For group sms, android system does not allow more then 20 sms in short interval. If you add delayed function for each sms for group messaging. Then Textra will be World best app
