Can the App gives option to take live photos or video or record sound?
When you click on the plus sign to add pictures from the gallery, it also gives access to the video camera or the microphone to allow to take pictures or recording or record sound. That would be great.

Would love a "lock" or "keep" option for messages that I want to keep so that I don't delete them inadvertently.

Need ability to add a photo or launch camera to add a picture to text.
Only way today: go to camera or gallery, take a picture or select one, click share, choose textra. All other text apps give you choices but textra only gives microphone voice to text via keyboard. Quite odd this missing link, especially given outside in via external app share works.

Can we somehow get backup of blacklisted numbers? This is needed when we teinstall android and restore sms messages.
After phone backup and restore, and install clean apps /Textra too/ I get sms messages back but I have to reblacklist tens if numbers. Problem is that most of them I dont have in contacts /eg Internet commercials/

Contact ID Look Up - if the number isn't in the address book it should check on-line
There should be a contact ID Look up built in so if the number isn't in the address book it auto looks online. At the moment I have a separate app to check this

Implement notification peeking
Textra has had floating notifications since before they were native in Android. Now that they are a system feature (called notification "peeking"), it would be nice if this native functionality was offered as an alternative on Android 5.0+ devices. This has the advantage of eliminating the showing of the notification twice on the lick screen, as well as matching the system design better. Peeking notifications can either be swept right to dismiss, or up to save them to the notification bar.

Keep new message notification in status bar until the message is read. I'm missing messages b/c the notification disappears too quickly.
Please go back to keeping the new message notifications in the status bar until the message is read. I don't know when that changed, but currently, the notification in my status bar only stays there for a few minutes. If I don't notice that I received a text within those few minutes, then it disappears and I have no idea that I've missed a text. I'm missing wayyyyyyy too many texts right now. I was going to buy the paid version of Textra, but I need my notifications to stay in the status bar until I read them. Please fix…

issue retrieving photo video or group texts
I get a message from textra telling me that i "cant retrieve/ SMS" (something like that) Every time I notice the message itll clear itself. I obviously have no clue who they are coming from and if I'm missing a picture, video or a group text. Why is this happening!? It very annoying! My phone is on the verizon network and I have the paid version of textra. Help!

More font size options
Options to change the font style & size from the conversation list, as well as within conversations as separate sizes.

Send as new automatically sends
When Send as new is selected, automatically send the message instead of requiring the user to hit send. The extra step seems redundant. This could be an option, so that the current method is maintained for users who like it.

Set a limit for SMS (auto delete)
Exactly how it sounds. Set a number to limit the space conversations are taking up on your phone. Should be default at 500 or even 200, like most messaging apps have. I have this setting in another messaging app, but that doesn't affect Textra, and Textra hogs a ton of memory because there's no limit.

Ignore diacritical mark of letters
My Xperia Z with original Andr. 5.0.2 doesn't ignore diacritical marks so name "Štěpán" (eng. "Stephan") cannot be found when I type" stepan". If Textra can ignore those marks, it would be awesome.
