Make specific notifications easier
Despite a fair degree of computer sophistication I actually just had to go into the support base to figure out how to set custom sound notification for a contact. It could be made much more simple and clear - as set, "Android Settings" looks like a heading, not something to click.
Putting "Set Custom Notification" or such where picking the icon is would be much simpler. I think most of us find separate notification noises much more useful than separate notification icons.

Be able to add a person or group to favorite and keep at top
Keep you favorite chats at the top so your not searching for them. Group chats that have multiple groups can get confusing and so you keep your main one at the top. Messages for Android has it. That's the only thing better, and that it works all the time.

refresh feature
add a feature so it will refresh the messages and update the order of them in a conversation. for example, when a message of yours is still sending and the other person sends you a text but yours doesn't send until after that, it will still stay above it in the chat. the refresh feature would simply make it accurate so the conversation looks the same on both ends.

conversation list
The name of person or first letter is huge... make smaller spoils it really. but great app. someone said gifs are big there end Strange. perhaps you could have your own stickers like telegram hehe 🤣🤣

scrolling problem
Whenever I am exiting the app via gestures in Android 11 (thumb up from the bottom middle of the screen), it scrolls all the way down through my messages even though I wasn't trying to scroll but to simply exit the app instead. The outcome of this is the fact that I always have to scroll back up whenever I re-visit the app, which is annoying and time-consuming. It would be nice if the devs found a way to overcome this. Cheers

"PERSONALLY PINNING OUR CONTACTS"
It's currently set so we can "PIN" our contacts to the beginning of our contacts list which is ok. But we really need to be able to prioritize our own contacts enabling our most important messages to not get missed, especially when we have a lot of loved ones, friends or coworkers to be in in touch with. There are only so many slots available on the initial Textra message board so being able to make our own contacts order would be greatly appreciated!

International texting
Textra has issues sending photos internationally. Every photo says "failed". The messaging app that comes with my Samsung has no issues

Fix issue where wifi drops when group message is received
Currently the app is unusable as my wifi drops every time I receive a group message on textra. As soon as I switch apps to the default messaging app the problem disappears.

Textra AI - Learning your common words and Phrases
Can the team consider allowing Textra to automatically learn words and phrases based on the number of times they have been used individually and together in the past and provide them as predictive text words and phrases for new sms.
Also textra could change its predictive suggested words and phrases based on the individual recipient knowing the common threads between individuals.

Repeating scheduled messages
Schedule messages to be repeated daily, weekly or monthly. can be used to remind the recipient to do something like "take your meds" or "feed the cat".

Blacklist by Contact
Right now, you have to know the actual number to blacklist. It would be helpful to be able to pick a name from my contact list, and have all the numbers associated with that contact be automatically added.

The ability to set our "favorites" in app I stead of using the android contacts
I'd like to be able to pick the contacts I want to have as favorites (available when quick composing) in the app, rather than the app importing my android favorites.
The biggest draw for me is I'd like to be able to have group conversations on that list.

Sync messages between devices.
Would be great to have textra sync texts between devices. Even support sms relay similar to how Apple supports it for imessage.
