It would be helpful to see the messages count on the app icon to know how many messages are still unread.

small change to the chat history calendar.
When scrolling through older messages, there is that drop-down that takes you to a calendar showing days a text or text messages were sent/received. I would really like it if there was an indication of whether I sent the text, received the text, or both.
I was thinking dots at the top and bottom of the day? If I received a text on that day in the chat a dot on the upper left of the number, if I sent a text a dot in the lower right of the number. If no messages are exchanged, the day remains un-noted…

Contact details in the list
It would be very useful to be able to show more info in the general list of sms.
So far, only the name of the contact appears. But when we have multiple phone numbers for one contact, it's a bit hard to follow.
Whenever the contact phone details is something else than "mobile" it should appear in the general list.

Hello. l think it would be good to have in the morning ''good morning's or ''bonjour'' and after 5 PM, ''good evening '' or ''bonsoir''. Now in French, you always have ''bonjour'' when you type ''b'', but you must type ''bons'' to have ''bonsoir'', even when it's late. What do you think about this?

one of my contacts suddenly disconnected from the Textra screen and wants to be its own app icon. First Textra thing in years I have not loved. How to stop it,?

Group phone number with and without country code
Textra separates phone numbers into separate threads if one has the country code. So, if you travel, it separates out from your previous messages with the person which can be confusing and annoying. Please consider options to keep the threads together.

when you text somebody happy birthday, the app should prompt you to save the birthday for that contact within your phone.
