Unread Texts
it would be great if at the top it showed "2 unread conversations" or something like that. Sometimes I forget to read texts that come in and then they get buried in the list. Would make it easier to know there are texts I haven't looked at. Thanks!

Theme colours

Gradients color

Select a 2nd different notification sound for reminding notifications and 5 or 10 minute intervals.
Basically what handcent has been using and allow us to use a 2nd notification sound for repeating reminder notifications so that way you know the difference between a new text message and an older one. Also giving us more intervals for reminder notifications. 2 minutes is just too quick and annoying 5 minutes would be perfect but others may want it even longer with a 2nd sound option to tell a difference between new and old messages.

Settings -> Application Manager crashing
I really like Textra and want to use it, but when I have it installed and try to open Android Settings -> Application Manager, I get an error. It says "Unfortunately com.android.settings has crashed. Once I uninstall Textra, the problem goes away. I have an LG G4 running Android 6.0.

Textra keeps closing
VERY IMPORTANT: Google are rolling out (most likely a mistake) a change which causes many apps to crash, including Gmail and Textra. It's being reported all over social media.
So, if Textra is crashing for you, open the Play Store app, search for "Android System WebView" and tap Uninstall. This will force your phone to use the previous WebView version which does not cause the crashing.
OR if the above is not present, do Android Settings > Apps > Chrome > Uninstall Updates.

Define a Quiet Time Period
Allow a time period where notification sounds would not play, such as during the overnight. Perhaps allowing just vibration as an option.
"Do not disturb" mode of Android doesn't work well as it also silences ring tones which means one cannot receive an emergency phone call.

media cleanup view
a helpful feature would be a media view.. to clean up/delete old media. it would be helpful if this view would show Media across all conversations and would also show web link image preview downloads. So that you could delete pictures videos and web link preview images easily and quickly across all conversations. Would make it so easy to clean up text messages..
currently inability to clean up old web previews is a hassle. Also currently inability to see media across all conversations is also a hassle. both of these limitations makes it very hard to clean up old pictures.6 votes -
contact colors only
it will be very appreciated to add a random contacts color (contact circle) without changing the all theme color per contact (keep my custom theme color). any chance to do that please ?

predictive spelling
what happened to predictive spelling, when you spell the word and it's misspelled you should be able to tap on it and it will give you a list of correct spelling of the word
