  2. background pics

    customizable background for main app screen and individual persons. user photos is what I am suggesting. I was able with message plus to have a main screen photo a d then my kids had a Pic of each of them and my wife for her it was awesome.

  4. be able to add reactions to images or gifs

    when you tap on a text you can add a reaction emoji and i think itd be cool if you could do that for a gif/pic, maybe by having the option ehen holding down on the image for a second

  5. Shading or some indicator of who sent latest text message

    I would love to have some easy indication of whether I responded to a text thread last (and I am waiting on a response from them) or whether the other person responded last - when viewing the list of all conversations. Maybe by lightly shading the conversations in the list as an indicator. Or a small mark or symbol on the conversation thread as an indicator.

  6. Exporting/Importing blocklist

    I get an unreasonable amount of political spam texts, if I could import a list of numbers that Textra could block I would be forever grateful. also the ability to export that list to modify and import again would make this feature PERFECT!

    maybe change landscape mode to be more like iOS showing the message list on the side and the conversation on the other side? instead of just making it a longer version of what you are already looking at

  8. Picture selection may 27th 2024 uodate

    Please remove picture selection update from may 27th 2024. If I want to go into picture selection mode I will tap hold. I don't want to have to do additional steps to send one picture. This is windows Vista bad.

    The new photo attach feature is not desirable, it takes longer and more taps to select multiple pictures.
    Just make the new attachment method an option instead of by default

    Dear Textra Team,

    Thank you for building such a fast and customizable messaging app. I have a feature request that would be especially useful for users in India.

    Due to local DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) regulations, many businesses send SMS from headers like VM-ICICIB-G, VK-ICICIB-S, etc., even though they all belong to the same sender (e.g., ICICI Bank).

    Currently, Textra treats each of these as a separate thread, which leads to fragmentation and makes it hard to follow conversations or notifications from the same brand.

  16. Quote Reply function

    So it's like it says on the tin. similar to how discord and a few other messaging/social media services have their own function where you can "reference" a specific message in a chat and easily be able to jump back to the original message when you tap on it. It's kind of hard to describe I suppose..

    it shows a snippet of the message you're replying to, to show the other person what you're referencing.

    it's helpful in fast paced conversations, or when you want to jump back to a previous topic but don't want it/them to get lost searching…

    idk if this is a limitation because apple hates Android but I'd love to be able to send audio messages. currently we can only receive them so it feels a little one-sided
