  2. locking and hiding chats

  3. Option not to show message preview on Message list

    Option to display message preview or not on message list screen or not. Keeps prying eyes from seeing anything but the icon and name of the sender and not the last message sent or received. That way the user can decide whether to open the thread or not

  5. Support Samsung/Other Manufacturers' Special Screen Modes (split, etc.)

    Textra is a wonderful, feature-rich app and my preferred SMS/MMS app: however, it's missing a few features. One of those is supporting the special screen modes that some make Android phone manufacturers have, such as Samsung's (and I believe LG's) split-screen mode, and Samsung's multi-view, pop-out, minimized, air view, and other specialized screen modes.

    Split-screen view is coming to the Android ecosystem inn the anticipated Nougat release of the operating system. It makes sense for Textra to also support at least the most common of the manufacturer's enhanced screen modes.

  6. Backup settings

    I've seen this before but, it would be great to have the ability to backup your Textra settings and customization. It's a hassle to have to do that each time.

  9. Create Shortcut

    Messenger allows you to create a shortcut for each contact and it would be cool if Textra had this option too. It basically puts that contact on your home screen and you touch their icon to open up that message thread. This is especially helpful for people you message frequently.

  12. Adding Lock Message feature

    Its like putting a specific conversation on a place where you can only see it. Like if you are texting someone privately. Like you girlfriend. Once you put that conversation locked, all messages incoming from that person will be filtered to a private box. I got this idea on some other apps and I find it really useful. I was just wondering if we could add it to Textra. I really don't want giving up this app, it was really cool.

  13. Custom made ringtones

    This should go without saying but please add ability to choose custom ringtones, such as audio files stored on the device. Being limited to stock ringtones is a serious limitation for an app with so many options.

  14. Font Styles

    I'd really like the option of downloading new fonts or just having a wider variety/selection of fonts to choose from other than system and textra's. This is by far my favorite texting app just wish there were more font customization options.

  16. driving mode

    there should be an icon to click before you start driving so if you get a text textra will automatically reply to the text and it will read "I'm driving right now will text you once I reach my destination"

  19. Ability to attach audio files

    Some SMS apps allow you to attach audio files, it would be nice if textra could allow that since it is better than other SMS apps in most every other way

  20. contact copy/pasting of phone number to be selectable

    enhance the option to copy/paste a contact's phone number into a text message so that the number is selectable. the current format uses too many parentheses and does not recognize the full phone number as an object
