  1. Option to mute multiple back-to-back messages from the same number

    Right now whenever I get a message, Textra plays the notification sound, turns on my screen, and adds a notification with the message. All well and good. When someone sends me 2, 3, or more texts back to back, all of this happens 2, 3, or more times back to back. It can get annoying.

    I would love an option that works like so when a new message comes in:
    1) If the message's conversation has no unread messages, deliver notifications as normal.
    2) If the conversation does have unread messages, do not play the notification sound, do not turn…

  2. Ability to "nickname" a group message

    Instead of just having the names of contacts in a list for the group message have the ability to create a name for the group. Like if I have a group message with my family instead of Mom, Dad, Sister.. ect. Be able to rename or "nickname" the group chat "Family" for example

  3. The ability to change default photo download location

    I receive a lot of pictures that I need to download to my phone. However, because of limited storage on my phone I download then to an album on an SD card. It's super annoying to have to manually move all the photos in the "textra" album of my gallery into a separate album on my SD card. I think it would be cool to set the default download location for pictures

  4. Recycle Bin

    I hope there will be a recycle bin on the next update. I mean, a recycle bin would be useful especially for people like me who have a young nephew who sometimes deletes my messages.

  8. Add a customizable Quick Messages menu

    One thing I liked about the system messaging app on my phone was the ability to respond with a quick message from a menu, like "Meet me at..." or "I'm at work, text me". I also liked that I could creates custom messages to add to the list of responses. Textra could definitely benefit from a feature like this.

  9. Block ALL UNKNOWN NUMBERS option

    I often get spam messages. Blacklisting the senders is useless, as the spammers change their number on each text.
    Please add an option to block all texts from numbers that are not on my contacts.

  10. Text bubble have gradient option like iPhone messaging.

    The bubble itself only allows one color for send and receive. It would be nice to have gradient support for the bubble, a touch of white or black to give it a 3d look.

  12. New phone, can't get Textra Pro back

    I had to get a new android phone, as the old one died, but Textra won't recognize I've already paid for the app, even though I'm using the same Google account. Please help.

  13. Search Options

    I feel the follwing should be added to the app:

    1. Better search options, current search gives the latest msg on top this is very inconvenient if I am trying to find my salary credit amount. If I search for 'salary' my salary credits should be shown first starting with the latest credit and then all other msgs with the word salary

    2. Option to search within a conversation or msgs from a particular person

    3. Option to mark important so that it is easier to find like starred in WhatsApp

  15. Make resyncing data not delete from Textra

    I needed to backup my texts and, for some reason, they hadn't been sent to the stock messaging app so I followed the advice here ( https://textra.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/249611-how-to-backup-my-messages ) in order to sync the data from Textra to stock messaging.

    Instead of syncing Textra data to stock, it synced the other way a removed a lot of the messages I was trying to back up.

    Is it possible to make resyncing perhaps merge the texts from both apps instead of deleting from Textra?

    Custom sound/vibration on delivery report receive (important: other then notification sound/vibration for normal message!). It could be usefull when sending message to someone with turned off/airplane phone.

  17. Detect when a verification SMS is received and offer to copy the code to clipboard

    Many services offer 2fa authentication via SMS these days. It would be great if Textra could recognise these senders and the part of the message that contains the code. Then either copy the code to clipboard automatically or offer a button for the user to do it, so they can just paste it into the app that is waiting for it.

    This might not be practical for every obscure service that uses it, but the big ones like Facebook or PayPal could still be really handy.

  18. add smsc parameters

    I think it would be great toi add smsc parameters. Indeed, I recently couldn't recevez sms with textra because I couldn't change smsc number. So I had to suite Textra, I hope I could come back soon...
