animation for sending messages
We can appreciate a simple animations in sending messages and not just making it appear after sending. How about making the send animation like hangouts. Just my opinion but Textra is still great.

hiding SMS and secret messaging
like miui where the person has to drag down the message screen until he sees the private message or something else but yeah would love it if there was a way to text secretly

Swiping away the notification in the pull down does not mark the message as read.
Right now, when you swipe away the notification, the text gets marked as read. I would like the option to chose whether the message get marked as read or not.

Need ability to copy items (like a Google image) to clipboard, then paste in message box.

Option to have tabs.
Either as a permanent fixture on the left or right of the screen or as a temporary left swipe action to reveal the people that you had texted before. And with a right swipe you close the tabs freeing up text space.

Can we add a function to remove ourselves from a group text?
I hate getting included on group texts but hate even more when I'm included in the constant t back and forth. can we remove ourselves?

Turn off "mobile data" on my phone automatically after sending a text with a picture (MMS).
My phone is a nexus 5 and I always have to remember to turn off the "mobile data" manually after send a MMS. Textra turns on "mobile data" to send the MMS, but doesn't turn it off.

send messages over wifi instead of cell service
Like I message you can send messages using your wifi and it would be a big help because I never have service at my house the only app that has this is verizon messages + but I like textra much better

Flatten notification bar colors.
Remove the gradient and replace it with a flat darker color in the notification bar.

why double tap trash bin to delete? Option to disable trash bin animation.

Quick text or template sending so that certain standard messages need not be written every time with option to add our own templates

My app shows shows two times next to received messages,spaced an hour apart. They should only show the received time.
Show the actual times next to messages.. Also include an option for a 12hr clock format.

Add share with other Android applications. It would be a little faster and easier than using copy and paste.
