Rounded text box.
Text box as in where you type in your message, make it rounded instead of it being the same colour as the rest of the convo. Just like on WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Allo etc.

Correctly time stamp receipt times for messages received while on airplane mode.
Currently I set my phone to airplane mode when I go to bed. When I wake up I turn it off and receive any message that were sent to me overnight. Currently the time stamp reads as that time in the morning when I turn AP mode off which is not the time when I actually would have received it. I use textra on my work phone too so it's super important to know when work texts were ACTUALLY received (sent by the sender).

Being able to set up a cloud account to which your entire conversation and settings would be backed up at a given interval.

favorite gifs
An ability to mark favorite gifs and have them show up in their own folder would be awesome. It would save time and be very convenient!

Enable Link Previews When Links Are Sent or Received
A link preview in a message sent or received. Much like the images and I fo that appears when you post a link to Twitter/FB.

Completely Mute specific contact notifications.
It would be nice to be able to completely mute a contact. For example I get Tweets from Twitter via text for work but I would like to not get a vibe notification each time I get a tweet text (several per hour). I like getting the text but I do not need an alert when each one arrives.

The ability to hide/collapse/minimize the keyboard
It would be nice to have the ability to hide the keyboard so it doesn't take up a large portion of the screen when scrolling through messages, trying to copy text, or viewing preview messages while typing long messages.

Game integration
It would be interesting to see if you could have some basic games integrated (ex: pac man, pong...). Sometimes you're waiting for someone to answer back within the next minute or so. That could be a cool way to pass the time.
