    It may just be a me thing but my phone won't let me save contact photos for SIM card numbers, so it would really be helpful if you could choose the contact image specifically for the app!!

  9. Display Names?

    We can hide the contact an messages on the notification bar. What about the contact names in the chats list? I personally like having the full names of my friends and family.. I'd rather not show them off to anyone reading over my shoulder I mean, at least make a few more steps to get them? I guess a custom field will work for now...

    I know this is pretty much beating a dead horse, so to speak 🫤, but honestly, it really WUD be super-dooper sweet if there were more Customization options, FR! 😬 gradients available to. ALL surfaces within Textra WUD really be SO DAMN SWEET!! by that I mean the chat bubbles, even the text (!😁🙏),

  11. Better out of service SMS handling.

    Currently, if you are out of service or offline and get sent multiple SMS messages, the only chance you have to download them is tapping the notification. If that fails to download the messages, that's it. They're gone.
    A placeholder message from the sender with the option to download and maybe retry would be a better solution.
    Even better if it can keep track of the timestamps and figure out how to put the missed messages in time order for group conversations.

  12. Make small reaction tray customizable instead

    Please consider making going back to the small emoji reaction tray a customizable option. If it is already I cannot find the setting, and having the whole menu pull up to react is very unnecessary

    With Apple they can edit the message after it is sent! This would be cool to have and a way so that it doesn't show up as ___ edited "..." to "...."

  18. Quick Voice Notes Tap to Record, Not Hold to Record

    When making a voice memo, can we have the option to tap the microphone symbol to start recording, and then tap to stop recording?

    Reasoning: Often when I'm making a Quick Voice Memo it is because I cannot text or manipulate the keyboard constantly. Having to hold the microphone symbol to record negates a lot of the usefulness of a quick voice memo. With a "Tap to record, tap to stop recording" option my hands and attention are a little more free.

    not an idea but people are complaining

    well it definitely needs to be improved you can search within conversations by typing the name of your contact and then type in the keyword and it will only search within conversations with that contact
