Textra needs this feature
If you're not already using Google Messages as your default text messaging app, this might finally get you to make the switch. Google is rolling out an update that adds the option to schedule when a message is sent. Scheduling messages is especially useful if you don't want to bother someone at the wrong time because they're in a different time zone, or you know they're busy at work. Or you can use it to schedule a message canceling plans that you regret even making.

Recycle bin
Instead of deleting the messages directly, there should be an option so that deleted message will stay for some time before its permanently removed.

Prompt for Bulk or Chat
Add a prompt when creating a group message to select either Bulk or Chat at that time. Presently, changing back and forth as needed is a hassle.

Why can't I copy one word, sentence or code out of a received message?
The only option is copy the whole message into something else then extract the code, number or words I want or flick between this and another app typing the code as I go. Really frustrating and I've been using this text app for years18 votes -

If you had a app to swap to ios or android, combine files from both into one updated. and store a backup then you will rule the smsand contacts world.

Blinking screen
Since many phones no longer have a blue led blinking light to show you have a message would it be possible to make the screen flash on and off or even the camera flash continually until you open the message?

Trash Box

Evernote's New Taskbar Does It Best
With larger phones, having the taskbar on the bottom of the app only makes sense. It doesn't have to be the default but please make it a choice. it would be the best change you could make to your sms app, acknowledging that it's being used on devices like the s20 Ultra and adding the choice for an Evernote 2021 like experience.

Why not be able to send yourself repeating weekly notifications, like for a gym workout each week?
