we really need a way to export block list so that when we get new phones we can easily import it!!!!

Shortcuts to message contacts
I'd like to be able to use shortcuts to message the people I message most often or to create a new message at the press of a button. as it is, Textra has no shortcut options whatsoever implement for Android.

The ability to mark/flag texts as important, needs follow up would be nice to have.

Block Messages based on keywords.
I receive spam/phishing texts daily claiming to be from my bank or Netflix or the CRA (government tax department)
I wish I could create a list of words & filter my messages so I never receive messages that contain those words.14 votes -

Please allow the option to create or edit the quick replies. I don't generally type okay. So I'd love to use it and make it my own. I'd write OK, I'd rather the quick replies feel more like me

Customizable text threads
I'm sure others have said it but slight more customizations for text threads, preferably the ability to add pictures in the background.

y'all's quick compose sucks
I love the IDEA of the ease of quick compose but y'all. why everything you just typed gotta disappear bc ur finger slipped or ur dog bumps into you and bam it's all disappeared and gone and you gotta then open the app and start ALL over. you know how many ten minute messages just poof! gone? that's infuriating. make em hold a fricken draft for crying out loud ! or SOMETHING sht

DATE RANGE MESSAGE DELETING
Rather than message by message deleting, we should have an option to set a range. Like DELETE ALL MESSAGES BEFORE 1/1/24. This WOULD NOT DELETE ANY MESSAGES WHICH ARE ACTIVE AFTER THAT DATE ! This means anyone you text after that date remains with ALL CONTENT.

limit or cooldown notifications
Please make a way to limit the number of notifications per x amount of time. Either per conversation or for the whole app. We all have that friend who sends 25 messages in a row.

KEEP --- safety delete
I have now accidentally deleted my KEEP file.
This is not good at all. Things I write that I will never be able to write again, important links ......etc etc are now GONE. NOT GOOD.
There needs to be a 2 step process to delete a KEEP file or a longer period in which to reverse a delete. I did not know I did this till this morning and I'm greatly upset.

Persist file directory for session
It would be helpful if on sending an attachment image etc, the source directory used would default for the next attach during the session. That way, if the user needs to send a series of images or files during a message exchange, it doesnt reset the source directory, and require a bunch of navigation

not my idea but can you let some women send themselves fake texts from men so they can let them find it in hopes of using them even more .

Spam Blocker
put all messages from Spam numbers in a special Spam folder. but put messages from pharmacies, medical offices, and financial institutions, etc that might include yes/ no response requests or security verification codes in the regular inbox.

Favorite contacts on top
Be able to choose and keep favorite contact messages on top of the message list for easier quick access regardless of how long between messaging

Back Up
I just love your Textra App, and have been using it exclusively since years now...
A nuisance, however, is that it does not include a backup for my settings to transfer from device to another...
Please consider adding this.
