  1. Add person to existing conversation

    When starting a new conversation, it is easy to add a new person. There should be a similar option to add a new person to an existing conversation (or at least to easily create a new conversation with participants based on an existing conversation's participants, e.g. by adding or removing some).

  2. Swipe to delete

    Right now, when you swipe to the right, all it does is reveal a trash icon. Then you have to tap the trash icon to actually delete anything.

    Why not instead make it so where you can swipe and the swipe alone deletes the message. Reduce the tolerance of the wipe so users have to purposely delete the message - like swipe half the screen width, for example.

    Then, to avoid accidental deletions, add an "undo" prompt that immediately pops up after deleting and stays visible for a full 5 seconds. This way the user can quickly tap "undo" and…

  3. Block media from unknown contacts

    Block auto-download/rendering of images, videos, web previews, etc... from unknown contacts. Would protect against spam as well as vulnerabilities like Stagefright

  4. TEXTRA needs to streamline the process of attaching a photo

    I love TEXTRA, don't get me wrong. My major complaint is that the process of attaching a photo is quite cumbersome. Once you tap the plus sign, the menu that opens is lengthy and difficult to navigate. There needs to be a way to manage settings so that Textra will open directly to the location best suited to individual users. For myself, I would prefer that the gallery app of my choice be what I see first when trying to attach a photo. Unfortunately by default TEXTRA will open to the download location, and then I need to navigate to…

  6. Preview pic or gif

    Can you add in a way to view a full-sized pic or gif before sending? when you attach a pic, you are only able to see the thumbnail of that pic until it is sent, and then you can expand the pic - you are not able to tap or long-press on the photo to see a full-screwn version before sending. it would be nice to be able to review the pic in app before sending.

  8. Web Messaging

    One of the best features I miss from google messages or iMessage is messaging from the web. There are applications like push bullet that work but having an all in 1 messaging app that handles web messages would be great!

  11. More ways to block spam and robotexts.

    Add more features to block spam and robo texts, the blacklist is not sufficient when the spammers are using numbers close to cell phone numbers and same area code.

  12. Perfect Color

    Change the preset color options to a color picker/generator for perfect theming. You guys already offer quite a variety of colors to choose from, which I'm thankful for. It's great. But I use Substratum and it has a Color Picker (on the light version of the app) so you can choose literally any color combination you like. So sometimes the colors just dont quite match up. I realize it may sound trivial or insignificant but sometimes it may be a deal breaker. Especially when I cant theme Textra with Substratum. There are a few that have Textra themed but not…

  13. Unknown Recipients

    Can you possibly fix it where unknown recipients are separated from known contacts? The other app I used provided this feature and all my unknown recipients were grouped together in a folder.

    Please add the ability to snooze messages (not just on quick reply) and be alerted at a later time as if the message is new. This would be similar to the functionality in Gmail.

    somehow others tag texts as ”liked” (iphones? not in my android app) then I get the entire stream.
    I want to not see such likes.

  20. Disable slide to call/slide to delete message thread

    Have a toggle option for enable/disable the feature where you slide someone's name to call or delete.

    my phone remains unlocked in pocket sometimes and has deleted threads and posts kept dialed.

    furthermore, the feature is simply annoying as requires more precision when sliding to prevent unintended effects.

    this is literally the one feature that has kept me from buying pro
