Searchable Individual Text Chats
It would be really cool if you could search within the text chat you're participating in. Searching them all is too broad sometimes.

A mode you can turn on while your driving. while on this mode the other person will get an automatic message telling them that you're on the road.

Group Messages
Messages from any Bank like SBI etc comes as a bulk having name of sender instead of number. There should be an option to group all those messages into one so that we can refer every message as one conversion. This should be done even if there is same contact having 2 or more numbers because there are 2 numbers but conversion is the same. so please update this quickly. Thank you. This app can be the best, really.

When you try to send a link, automatically shorten it like Twitter does, into like those bit.ly or goo.gl formats.

Bug: Words typed continue off the screen
Just updated my phone to Android Nougat last night, and the app was fine. Wake up this morning and try to send a message, only to see the words I type continue off the screen. The words actually go underneath the send button, and keep going for about 20 characters before starting a new line like it should when it reaches the send button.

I love to be able to put things into folders so I could separate text messages into groups like friends family things like that and perhaps have all the text messages that are associated with contacts in my phone go into its own separate folder

Autohide top Textra/search/settings-bar
Would love to have the text messages-area maximized upon opening Textra. Perhaps a swipe down to show the top bar for search/settings? This would provide a cleaner and lighter look of the app. Something that I already appreciate Textra a lot for.

Night dotted line go separate each contact
Having a white/light grey colour scheme provides a very light and lean look of the main contacts-screen. But despite the space between each contact I think a light grey dotted line would separate them even better. Would look neat too!

textra has a large and expanding user base in the world of people who are on-call for data networks. in such a role, 24/7 notifications of varying importance are common. a useful function of the messaging app would be the ability to scan incoming messages for user defined regexp and to perform an action upon detection, the most basic being an auto delete for example (e.g. I know alert X is going to be happening so just auto delete it when it arrives). this feature would obviously require processing resources on the receiving handset but anybody using it would likely…

Sticky on Top
i would really love a Sticky on top feature so important persons to contact wont be missing or hard to find in your inbox that has tons of conversations to clients, friends or relatives etc.
