  2. ability to add contact to address book from text

    I get a text from a new number, and rather than just clicking the number to say "add to address book" or "add to contacts," whatever, I have to copy the number, open the address book, paste the number, and add the contact. I don't understand why I can't avoid the copy/pasting and have Textra open a "new contact" in my address book for me.

  3. Move delayed messages up so you can start typing a new message

    The delayed send feature is excellent! One thing that could make it even better is if the delayed messages were moved up into the thread (where the sent messages are) so that you could start typing the next message. The timer could go to the left of each delayed message. This would probably also leave room in the UI for a "send now" button, as suggested elsewhere.

    If you want to edit the delayed sending, you can just tap the cancel button. The delayed text gets moved into the text box for editing. When that message is sent, the stuff…

  5. Trash box

    For reasons I do not fully understand, I sometimes accidentally delete a txt message. It would be great if they went to a trash box instead of disappearing forever! Maybe include a setting for how many days to keep deleted messages.

  10. Textra suggestions

    Textra is a great app — fast, smooth, simple, and customizable. I'd love to see it improve even more. Here are some suggestions:
    • Display unread count in conversation list.
    • In the conversation list, for group messages, display initials for contacts without pictures.
    • In conversation list, have option to display newest conversations at the bottom (consistent with message view, easier to reach with one hand).
    • In conversation list, swipe right to archive conversation (hides it from list).
    • Options to change incoming text color, outgoing text color, timestamp color, bubble color, primary color, accent color, and background…

  11. contact pictures next to messages in thread

    Would love to have the option to customize whether a contact's picture can be seen next to the actual messages within the conversation thread itself (similar to hangouts which sets this as the default and chompsms which allows the customization), instead of just being in the upper right corner.

    Please give us the ability to do the message reacts like iOs and Facebook Messenger have. Would also be nice to see the reacts that others do to our messages the same way that iOs does, instead of just getting a message that says"loved "blah blah.""

  17. Search individual message threads

    A lot of the time when I need to search for a message it's usually for a specific person (e.g. my friend told me when they would be in town several months ago and I need to confirm the time frame). We can search all threads but often it's difficult to weed out the right message. If each message thread had its own dedicated search button it would be a lot simpler.

  19. Option to Keep Unread Messages at the Top

    It would be helpful if there was a setting to keep unread messages at the top of the message list. It would be good to also optionally set the unread messages to be above or below the pinned messages.

  20. "Don't Auto Open Keyboard on Quick Compose Screen" Option

    On my phone my keyboard is pretty tall, so when I go to send an image or quick compose, I can only see a few of my "favorites" icons in a row or so. I have to close my keyboard, then press the icon(s)/face(s) to send to, then re-open the keyboard.

    What would be great is if the keyboard didn't automatically start open on the Quick Compose screen. 99% of my texts are sent to my "favorites" who have icons to click on anyway. So the keyboard would then open if you clicked IN the recipient box (rather than a…
