Scanning barcode to computer
I was wondering if you had thought of those who wanted to work on their PCs and at the same time send text messages?
A bar code that can be scanned to a computer might do the trick, think about it.

make 'mark as read' an option for when you access a message through the notification.

Texting customisation
When texting instead of the background only being white or dark mode, allow the user to put a picture as the background or different colors. It would definitely spice things up in the right direction. White or dark is very boring but I love everything else about the app.

group messaging
MMS is limited to 10 contacts, but if you send the same message separately to each contact( in the particular group- if the number is higher than 10) you can actually exceed that number.

Automatic Response
It will be great if we could schedule an automatic message response in specific hours, days or moments... That way, all messages will be response with our message without to read them.

move send button away from keyboard
I often get caught out accidentally sending a message before completing it. This occurs when I tap on the message to edit it and accidentally hit the send button.
I see 2 solutions:
Give the option of shifting the send button away from the keyboard.
Or
Give the option to be presented with an "are you sure?" dialogue14 votes -

Timeline View Option
Displays all messages in chronological order - as a timeline with sender name / info indicated in a header line, with date time. Maybe only for a range of days, or a week at a time.

Contact Colours
Textra is well worthy of 5'rating but what would make it better - instead of scrolling sideways on what colour to choose for received & sent messages is a choice of colours you can choose to use (like in what style bubble etc) my fingers are shaky at times and it is not easy to scroll across in colours like now. That would make it a final super app in my mind
