In messages, have the option to replace phone number with contact name
If the SMS content contains a contact's phone number, the contact name should be shown as a link to the contact, instead of showing the phone number.
I received a SMS from my telephone when I have missed calls due to my phone being out of range or switched off. In these messages it currently shows the phone number and I need to copy that and search my contacts to figure out who it is. It would be better if Textra replaced the phone number with the contact name (in different color and underline) and linked that name to the…6 votes -

if you use a 3rd party sms app you won't get unread count shown on the home screen icon is there any way to get this?

Don't do the full long vibration while viewing the conversation
Instead of doing a full long vibration, instead do a shorter one while the conversation is displayed on screen.

What's with the ancient-looking zoom buttons in this support/feedback section?
Basically the title. Looks like they're from pre-gingerbread era and have that ugly yellow/orange color when pressed.

Gif keyboard
Allow the app GIF keyboard to be able to be used inside of the app. Normally we can just use the # and it'll pop up allowing to search through gifs already saved

Ultra power saving mode
Samsung has an ultra power saving mode and when the mode is switched on I don't get any texts whatsoever, even if I turn the mode off, like any texts I would have received I would never get at all. Having support to be able to use textra while in ultra power saving mode would be enough to have me pay to use the app.

Sidebar with conversations
Just switched over from hello SMS. The feature I loved about that app was the side bar where I could toggle between conversations easily. Could something like that be implemented here? Would make this app perfect. :)

Make splitting SMS messages over 160 an individually assignable feature
I hate having to change back and forth between split and don't split sms depending on who I'm texting and their carrier. You need to make that option one of the individual override features. Not all or nothing for all contacts.

The message send command is often hidden when scheduling a message. It would be helpful if a send command was displayed in the scheduling dialog.

Function to split long sms so they don't become mms
O2 charges me for sending long sms, makes them mms. Could you have a function that automatically splits long sms into smaller chunks and so not become mms?
