    It would be great if in case of changing the phone for example, once Textra is downloaded on the new device, we can log in, so all the messages will be there!

  3. Remove Giphy/Switch providers

    Giphy was bought out by Facebook today, likely as part of Facebook's attempts to scrape more data from as many people as they can. I think we should have the ability to disable Giphy integration if we want. I really don't want Facebook to track giphs sent to my friends and I think there will be a lot of people who feel the same way.

  9. Themes

    It would be nice to have permanent themes. Pride themes, where the colors change with the Rainbow. Halloween themes, where bubbles have spider webs or black cats. Tie Dye, Glitter, Earth Day, Etc...some of us celebrate things all year long.

    I get some spam messages, so it's be nice to get configure notifications for known contacts, and silence unknown senders

  11. Show emoji for iphone tapback response

    This is rolling out for Google Messages on Pixel phones. I'd like to see the same implemented for Textra users. Currently, if you're in a conversation with an iPhone user, and they react to a message, it comes through as all text (ie, "Joe laughed at [message text]". The requested change is to display the emoji reaction, rather than the text

  13. Remove self from group messages

    There needs to be a remove self from group messages option. It would also be great to have a setting that automatically removes self from recieved group messages if you don't want to recieve group messages and don't want to blocklist anyone. Example: someone sends me a group message and I don't want to be a part of that group message and don't wanna block anyone so only the group message gets blocked yet allows the sender or others within the group to message you individually without being blocked.   18. We need a search option in each individual thread or conversation.

    This is a simple feature many of your users want. It's common in other text apps I've used. I was surprised to see it is not available here.

  20. Textra Accounts

    We should have a Textra account or some way to back up our messages so they can easily transfer to a new phone. I just got a new phone and had to transfer my messages to the Samsung messages app and back up my phone using my Samsung account to get my messages on my new phone and then switch my default texting app back to Textra. An account or back up option would be so helpful!
