Be able to see when someone is typing
I think that it would be super amazing to be able to see when someone is typing. it makes it easier to detect if someone read your message.

blocklist backup
Sometimes, for installing new version of Textra, it is necessary to remove previous version.
in these cases, user should block all numbers that was blocked in previous version of app from the first.
please add a feature to backup Textra settings and blocklist to restore them easily.45 votes -
Leave a Group Chat
It would be nice if there was a way to leave a group chat; maybe there is and I haven't found it. Or to not receive notifications just for that specific chat (again, maybe there is a way to do it, but I haven't figured it out). When I'm trying to work but need to have notifications on for other messages, it's very distracting to get constant group chat notifications.

Temporarily mute a group text
Allow muting (silencing) a group text for an hour/day/whatever for when group texts blow up with "me too", "feel better", etc. so you don't have to remember to un-silence the group later.

Textra app for samsung gear watch
This is the best texting app on the market I would never use anything else. It is compatible with the Samsung gear but can you guys please develop an app for the Samsung gear. Please I'd even buy it again for the watch I love this app that much.

Notice For Lack Of Reply & Snooze
Enable the ability to flag a conversation upon sending a text that watches that conversation for a reply and/or snooze the conversation.
Several options could exist. It could watch for a reply and if no one texted again for your predefined period of time, you would get a notice in Textra. Or you could just tell Textra to remind you about the conversation regardless after a set period of time.I use Boomerang for Gmail and Gmail's snooze feature quite a bit for business. Support for Samsung Gear S3
this app would be the ultimate if I could use it on my new Gear S3 watch. Unfortunately I have it set as my default app (because I love it's interface) but I don't get any notifications pushed through to my watch. Currently only the default messaging app allows messaging notifications to be pushed to the watch.

Back up for SMS should be there
add the feature where user can backup the sms in any cloud services like OneDrive and Google drive, so that if the user takes another phone the backup should be downloadable to the new device.

for at least 5 years Textra users have been asking you on Google to add wallpapers or themes for background and from what I could see you've not responded to any of them. this would make the Textra app next to perfect. if it weren't for the giphys available through your site so easily I would switch

Option to save pictures taken to the Gallery. Ones, I take, not pictures received.
Currently, if you take a picture within the app, the picture is only in that thread. It is not automatically added to the Gallery. You have to tap on the picture and manually save it. By default it will go to your downloads folder instead of the gallery. There is only an option to autosave incoming pictures and videos to the gallery.
I'm asking for an option to autosave outgoing pictures and videos to the gallery.
